"Adapting" wide format PFI ink to small printers with 1pl nozzles

Yes, same 4pl droplet printhead was used (first PF-01, then later PF-03) for both plotters with dye ink (1 head) and photo printers with pigment inks (2 heads). I agree those plotter dye inks probably have different composition. The question is to what extent and if the surface tension (or other...

"Adapting" wide format PFI ink to small printers with 1pl nozzles

You are not right, PFI 102 C/M/Y/BK are all dye inks (except MBK, which is pigment).

"Adapting" wide format PFI ink to small printers with 1pl nozzles

I managed to get couple of new OEM PFI-102/PFI-104 dye ink cartridges intended for Canon wide format printers and I thought i can use them for refilling CLI 526 or 551 carts. I always flush the carts carefully and let them dry before filling with different ink. I have issues with Cyan ink - it...

    MG6450 - Service mode hangs

I did a check at virustotal today - the result was something like 23/57. My up-to-date ESET NOD32 Antivirus is OK with this file. Anyway, the decision to try it it is up to everybody... To be on a safe side, you can always use a separate Windows install or virtual machine for such kind of work...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

Hi, my intention is to print HQ photos on all my ink-jet printers - I'm looking for maximum achievable quality all the time. I also run my own color management usign spectrophotometers. It means I always align heads manually and print with High quality setting and for selected papers even with...

    MG6450 - Service mode hangs

Hi, I'd like to share some of my findings with regard to service mode operations on CLI 551/251 generation of printers. I have tried to use service mode on 3 representants - MG5650, IP7250, MG7150. All 3 entered service mode after "standard" 5 click sequence - no problem with that. 1) My...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

Hi everybody, I can confirm such kind of behavior on MG7150 which I got recently. It has been probably run using some cheap chinesse ink by previous owner, cca 2800 pages printed - probably mostly office documents, but I do'nt know for sure. Dye black nozzles (BK) are strongly misaligned, photo...

The Canon Pro-1 Ink Empty sensor

Hi guys, I'm very hapy to see lots of interest hanging around Pro-1 last weeks. To support your efforts I can report some of my experiences: 1) my Pro-1 goes to service mode without troubles (I entered it many times) and it does so even after firmware upgrade to the latest one - there is...

Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II ink empty sensor ?

OK, I just wanted to use everything from last few OEM carts I still have before I switch to refilling as this step will require new profiling. Once I am on re-filled carts, I will folow this group-change approach to avoid unnecessary cleaning cycles. What looks strange to me is the fact, that...

Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II ink empty sensor ?

Does anybody know if 9500 II has any sensor or internal logic to stop printing when the cart is totally empty like the Pro-1 has ? If not then probably the only safe approach would be to replace the cart once the red X appears for that cart. Thanks for your replies in advance. Pavel
