My sc-p900 prints 1 cm wide bands

It looks like ink starvation or a clog in one of the heads or both.. Try replacing the whole set of carts.. Yes its expensive but you can’t print with it in the condition it’s in now..

    Pro-100 Clogging Mid-print

The error looks to me like ink starvation caused by a cartridge. I suggest to try another cartridge instead of the one of the failing colour. I think most ink starvation problems are caused by cartridges, not by a clogged printhead.

    251 & 250 Toner Cartridges Question

...sell your prints it is recommended to use OEM inks and photo paper. Some aftermarket cartridges are OK, but others have problems with ink starvation or leakage, so buying aftermarket cartridges is a gamble. Canon OEM cartridges are high build quality and better suited for refill than...

Having truble with color intensity after cleaning and ink refill. Canon Pixma IX4000

...same amount, so a colour cast should be the result. I see no colour cast so I think the cartridges were properly dried before refill. Ink starvation produces wedge shaped areas of missing ink like what is seen here and here, so ink starvation is also ruled out. I don't think the printhead...

Epson L1300/ET14000 cyan and black nozzle issue

...in 2023 august improved but did not disappear with changing the inks with fresh ones and the damper with a new one). I wonder if it is ink starvation or something because basically my other L1800 sometimes experienced such things but nothing like mist on the nozzle or the strongly misaligned...

    Problems with no printing

I'm sure the cause of problem is in the printhead. Some of the magenta nozzles seem to be clogged or defective. If the cartridge were the cause of the problem by causing ink starvation the green stripes would have been wedge shaped instead. See this post for an example of magenta ink starvation.

    Canon Pro100s smearing black ink

After several goes at cleaning again, this is what I'm getting. It's worse if anything. I'm not sure if it's ink starvation as I've had that before with clogged printheads, this looks different....lots of smudging as well as incomplete printing.

    i 9950 ink starvation

Hi "I have a problem with my Canon i9950 printer. Before printing a photo, I do a nozzle check and it's fine. However, during printing, the output gets banding, striped, and the nozzles become clogged. When I check the nozzle again, I find that the Photo cyan and/ or Photo magenta has some...

...( and more significant ), nozzle tests don't show the issue. We see it only printing large areas of solid color. All this points to ink starvation for one reason or another. Considering that a new OEM cart didn't fix the problem at once, my money is on partial and progressive clog of the...

    Magenta Banding Pro 10s

...results, then the problem isn't faulty ink or a damaged cart. It must be the printhead. Partially clogged nozzles could result in ink starvation. Maybe a progressive build up of crud inside the ink channels, like a sort of printer's arteriosclerosis. Besides, magenta is usually the most...

    Magenta Banding Pro 10s

Ink starvation is more usual with sponge based carts, but the Pro10 cartridges have no proper sponge, only a thin felt pad at the ink output. Anyway, it’s possible that the pad of this cartridge, after being refilled many times, became partially blocked with dried ink, so it can’t cope with the...

    Magenta Banding Pro 10s

I wonder if the magenta banding outside the magenta square is an artifact caused by image compression? If not I think the printhead and/or the main board has suffered an electronic damage. I agree with The Hat that the banding looks like it is caused by ink starvation.

Entrapped air bubbles- Dimatix Starfire Print Heads

...and we have thrown the kitchen sink at it but we are unable to troubleshoot this issue. The air bubbles are causing missing nozzles, ink starvation and poor ink jetting. We have replaced the degasser, replaced print heads, check hoses but within a few minutes of production we see air bubbles...

Does CLI-521 ARC chip show the ink level?

...refillable PGI-550/CLI-551 cartridges with intelligent chips. This was not a success. some of the cartridges developed problems with ink starvation, some leaked and over time the ink indication came out of sync with the ink level in the cartridge, so you needed to check the cartridges...

    Canon Pro-200 printing horizontal lines

Hi, I’m using only Canon ink but I may have pushed the limit on the blank cartridge before replacing. However, I have since replaced the cartridge but the problem persists. Could this have caused permanent damage? If so, will replacing the head fix it?

    Canon Pro-200 printing horizontal lines

A question for you… Are you using OEM carts and inks or are you refilling, or using compatable 3rd party inks.. Because this is a cartridge issue and I suspect its caused by ink starvation..
