I noticed that the IP4000 printhead also fits the IP4100 and IP4100R printers. I Googled IP4100 and came up with a Canon PIXUS ip4100 What exactly is the Pixus IP4100?

ghwellsjr Finally solved it. Did a hot water soak of printhead and syringe water pressure through intakes. Managed to clear clogs. Thanks though for explanation about magneta and cyan cartridges. Could come in useful another time.

Definitely not the cartridge. Tried a brand new OEM Cyan cartridge. Nozzle print looks fine but when I print blue it starts off OK then magneta lines appear in the blue. Must be the printhead but can't understand hy nozzle check looks fine.

Swapped cartridges as suggested and nozzle checks are ok for both colours. Magneta and Cyan both print ok in nozzle check after swapping. However, when I try for a blue print, it runs out and Magneta takes over.

I have been trying to get Cyan to print correctly but after roughly one page of printing the ink runs out. After cleaning a nozzle check shows the Cyan to be fine then it starts to dry up after about a page of printing. Thought it might be ink starvation but I've tried three different...

When a print head finally goes it is a somber experience and the posts on this forum show the lengths that members will go to to revive the print head. However, perhaps we should remember how much we have saved by refilling cartridges when taking the cost of a new print head into account. In...

I read in a computer mag recently that Using a CD writing pen on disks causes the ink to burn into the top surface of the disk making it unuseable after about 6 years. Also the article stated that using stick on labels has the same effect. Recommendation was to use print to cd face function...

Excellent article on identifying the inks used but what about Canon 4 ink cartridge printers, ie no photo black ink cartridge (Ip3000, 3500 etc). What carts are used when printing photos with these printers?

E-mailed promaximaging on 3 separate occasions but not received a reply. Shocking customer service

Sid A Resetter or Redsetter (as it is often called) will reset the chips on your cartridges so that your printer will record ink levels on your refilled cartridges. Although not a necessity it removes the need for you having to physically examine the carts. Personally I wouldn't be without...

Anyone any experience of filling carts with this ink. I know that Rihac try to promote CISS systems but wondered how the ink compared to Canon's (without profiling) I have found that without profiling Hobbicolors ink is brighter than Canon ink but a little too red and Image Specialists is...

Haven't had a problem so far and must have reset over 100 carts. Like you I bought the redsetter when it first came out for over 30. Only problem I've had has been a couple of carts which reset ok but my printer wouldn't recognise them. Put this down to faulty chips rather than the resetter though.
