Take off the front panel by removing 3 screws. Look down and you will see 9 white wires going to a connector. The middle one needs to be cut. I use a curved pick to lift the middle wire and a pointed wire cutter to snip. Done! No more close cover, missing cartridges, .....

I can use the method both ways. The neat thing is that it works without cartridges in the printer. Not cheating the cartridge, cheating the printer electronics with a 3 minute hack.

If that is the case how could a clogged nozzle head section be cleared after being energized numerous times without ink? In any event, turning a clogged color Brother into a Black/Yellow printer is useful. It is a big relief to be able to print with empty or missing colors cartridges.
