Exactly my point. I remember watching Mr Wizard, and he had a large and a small syringe connected with some tubing and all filled with water. Press as hard as he could on the large syringe, he could not stop his assistant, a small boy, from pushing the small syringe in.

I am just advising caution with the syringe. I've seen people get a tiny syringe and then really =push=. Patience is a virtue. I was thinking of the layers in the printhead when I said laminations.

Where are you getting it free?

I'm curious, if you don't mind. Did you check for air in the clogging cartridge?

I have found that mucky ink tends to build up on the park pad over time. This may built up enough to touch the heads. It is usually a mix of ink and dust from the paper. You can't wipe it off, at least on the Epsons I've worked on, because it uses a hard foam that will pull bits from whatever...

Also, magenta ink, the Epson OEM stuff anyway, seems to be a common problem in developing what may be a bacterial sludge/gel in the lines. I've seen this in other Epson printers, and seen a number of people with continual clogs eventually discover the tubes and damper are filled with this...

Replacing the cartridge only replaces the ink, not the heads. You probably know that, I just wanted to make that clear. A lot of things can masquerade as bad nozzles. I doubt the ink would go bad in only a year or two. However, it has been my experience that the cartridge may begin to build up...

I've had job and life stuff going on, so I've not done any more on my printer. I am hoping someone weighs in on this. These are great printers. Wow, you are not kidding, it is hard to find that information. I found someone selling or renting the calibration kit, but can't find the instructions...

So... did you find supplies for this? I also have an HP 3000cp. I have a set of used dye and used pigment cartridges waiting for me to find time to clean them out and use them. It would be nice to have another supplier.

There are sintered brass bearings in the head carriage. Sometimes, possibly due to the oil getting stiff from absorbing dust, the bearings will slide out. This prevents the carriage from moving over its entire travel. If it has, just push it back in. I suggest wiping the rails with a rag and...
