First actual review I have seen with someone using the printers. Lots of things I like such as dual nozzles, new AMS dryer etc etc. Slightly disappointed that build volume limited in height compared to a full cube.
Not sure about the version with the added laser even with the green doors and...
I have been mainly printing PLA and PETG where I thought the better chemical, UV resistance and pliability may benefit.
If I understand correctly PETG is OK without an enclosure but ABS and ASA benefit greatly, although I have read claims that it is not absolutely necessary if you can eliminate...
I entirely agree, I would see no reason to upgrade as long as you are happy with what you are producing and there is no 'must have' feature or real benefit perceived in making a change. Unless PAS strikes hard (Printer Aquisition Syndrome) :drool;)
Ahh, thanks had missed the delivery time scale assuming it would be available now
The price drop chart is interesting and I agree a little worrying. I do seem to remember seeing an early price quoted as $499 which normally translate to the same figure in GBP. At that time my thoughts were...
Based solely on what I have seen, admittedly on Youtube reviews only, it seems to me that up until fairly recently Bambu Labs has had no real competition for its X1C and P1S. Yes, there are a number of manufacturers that quickly produced ‘me too’ core xy devices but Bambu labs still appear to be...
I think the problem is that Orca have not yet produced a profile for your printer? If that is the case and if you really want to try Orca would this user generated profile get you started?
https://www.printables.com/model/860362-ender-3-v3-xz-orca-slicer-profile
I have been trying Orca slicer in place of Bambu Studio and noticed some advantages Orca appears to have over the Bambu version, using Bambu P1S
I tend to agree if you are happy with your current system then why bother, however IMO there is nothing lost in trying something new if you see that...
The fact that both profiles produced good looking prints is obviously a good sign. If you are using Canon own paper and ink how do the profiles compare to Canons own?
I can neither confirm or deny the differences as I have not tried this method properly or made the comparisons you have...
Well done and thanks for freely sharing your work. :thumbsup
I am sure there must be many out there that have bought used i1Pro/ EFI units from the likes of eBay only to find that they are as useful as a chocolate teapot due to no software licence from X-Rite. FWIW you can purchase the...
The rail is very useful (absolutely necessary ?) for working with ArgyllCMS produced prints as you will be measuring many more samples than the basic Colormunki software can produce, leading to more accurate profiles.
I suspect many shy away from cmd line driven software due to having to learn...
Thanks yes I was aware of this. Mine came from a known source a retired pro friend of mine. He had been through similar with his first unit a cheap ebay i1Pro which he could not get to work until I stepped in and showed him the ArgllCMS and GUI's. Not liking that he acquired an i1Pro2 with...
Yes the unit came with iPublish so I was very happy. With ArgyllCMS I used to use a coupleof GUI front ends. One being Little Argyll e other which was more comprehensive called [color]Profiler. I think the author gave up on it as he only ever got 2 donations one of which was MINE...
It was only a tongue in cheek suggestion to ask if you were volunteering to remove the feet and scan directly on print surface. ;) :)
I know you have done a lot of work on this and are obviously happy with your results. If you do decide to experiment it would be interesting to hear your...
I suspect you may be right here but I have not actually tested. What we need is for someone to cut off the little feet on the unit after first making profiles with a guide system and then direct on to paper after amputation of feet
then compare numerically and visually.
I take it you...
FWIW, and bearing in mind I have not tried a guide such as these.
I believe the Z direction (height) can adversely readings due to the thicker your guide base is the greater the cross-talk from adjacent column patches may be. In practice does it really make any difference I just do not know...
Apologies John for taking your thread off topic
Hope you get a response to your Qimage One query soon. You may find some information/opinion on Jtoolmans Facebook or Website...
16 bit is already standard on Mac and possible with Windows, so why do you keep on insisting it is not?
In isolation no one can tell if a print has been produced in a 16 bit or 8 bit workflow. Side by side 8 v 16 bit comparisons may reveal subtle differences in smoother gradients for images...
We are not in disagreement here at all.
Two photographic images side by side are more than likely to appear identical from either an 8 bit or 16 bit print pipeline. Certainly it will not be apparent with the same two prints viewed independently and may only be visible in side by side prints...
Epson, Canon and HP can and DO print in 16 bit pipeline. But not in Windows as explained earlier there is no option to do so in either the OS or in the Windows application. 16 bit pipeline supported for a long time in Apple and those printing applications offer the opportunity to switch to 16...
