The seller provided this nozzle test.

I'm guessing the vertical banding is moire from the scanner, but just wanted to double check with all the bad luck I've been having.
I'm pretty excited...
I'm reading through some posts online. From what I understand, the Pro 10 is preferable for refilling with 3rd party pigment inks because 3rd party dye inks are much less lightfast.
Are there any suggestions for 3rd party pigment inks?
It seems print times for the Pro 10 are a lot slower (x2)...
Ug, I received the second printhead from the local vendor today, and it was another dud. It was a refurbished unit. All the heads were clear except the green channel was busted. Pretty disappointed since this one was $180. Overall it was in better condition than the one from China, but still no...
Yea, I don't know in your case. I was having an issue with DisplayCAL and my older monitor in the initial calibration step. It was giving me some kind of warning about setting the dynamic range to Full (0-255), which I did in the Nvidia Control Panel, but it didn't seem to help and instead had...
I finally received the i1Studio the other day. I've had a chance to try it with 3 monitor calibration packages:
1) Calibrite ccStudio
2) ViewSonic Colorbration+
3) DisplayCAL
Out of all three I found ccStudio to be the easiest to use and give the most consistent results between 2 monitors...
Nice, thanks for the tip. I'll definitely consider it.
Oh boy, after doing a little research the printheads are even more expensive at $700, yikes.
I'm seeing some at ~$450, I'm wary there are similar pitfalls when buying cheaper. Are the heads more durable with this model?
Another update, the eBay seller finally approved the return, which they waited until the last day in which eBay would step in. Usually if the item is defective the seller is obligated to pay if they want the item back. In this case they're in China, and they claimed they weren't able to issue a...
To be honest, I'm happy to use refurbished products and save them from the landfill as long as they perform, but this is just non-functioning.
I've tried resuscitating clogged printheads myself multiple times with no success. I would be happy if a business were able to reclaim printheads, and...
The monitor is a ViewSonic VP3256-4K that I got manufacturer refurbished:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/395448571079
They advertise as factory calibrated. The gamma is looking goofy out of the box, otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. I should be receiving the i1 Studio in a few days, looking...
Update, the eBay seller is giving me the run around.
I was feeling generous and tried testing the printhead. I was willing to consider if it actually printed fine, I wouldn't press it, but after wasting ink on a cleaning cycle, it showed streaking on almost all the heads, and the cyan didn't...
Thanks, I was wondering if there was a straight forward list of commands for an Argyll workflow. Very helpful.
The discussion on rendering intent was interesting. I ran across the Adobe paper on black point compensation at one point, and this puts it in context.
Lots of good info, appreciate it.
For some reason my posts seem to be stuck in moderation, but I went ahead and installed ArgyllCMS, DisplayCAL, and ccStudio. I skimmed through some of the documentation for Argyll, and even found this PDF by Graeme for a symposium back in 2010...
I'm a digital artist with an old Canon 9000Pro Mark II. I'm trying to get back into making prints for my own personal folio. I originally got the printer for $300 back in 2013 for a commercial project, and then just held onto it.
I was refilling cartridges with a Precision Colors kit for a...
I found this page on the Argyll website about compatible devices which I found helpful:https://www.argyllcms.com/doc/instruments.html#i1p2
And also this walkthrough of the different workflows on the LittleArgyllGUI website:

Would it be better to get an i1Studio and use the old ccStudio off Calibrite's website?
https://calibrite.com/us/software-downloads/
I'm seeing them go for ~$400.
On the otherhand, I'm seeing i1Pro2 (EO2-XR-ULZW) for ~$350 with the case, scanning board, holders, etc. But I'm worried Argyll...
Will do. If you have a chance, I'm looking for advice on what calibration device I should get:

BTW - This is what I got back from the seller after asking for a return:
"Hello, thank you for your purchase. Please rest assured that it's normal to see some marks or traces on the product. These occur as part of our supplier's quality inspection process before shipment. Additionally, you...
