I'm inclined to go with @The Hat on this one but it'd be a WAG (Wild Asses Guess) so don't put too much stock on that opinion.
As to the original White ink issue I'd put money on the fact that it's white ink being a congealed horrible mess to work with. I'm basing that on various conversations...
Of course my space is organised and clean... I mean... :gig
Thanks for the feedback... It does actually help... ironically we've only sold the one kit but it's early days. There can't be too many G5000 series printer owners who've hit the waste ink issue yet.
Cheque's in the post... (counting...
Glad you found a solution. I was about to suggest there might be some air in the magenta pathway but it sounds like shenanigans was more than cause.. Bit sneaky if true mind.
Hmm...
Thanks for the responses on these. Looking at your detailed replies I can see that my phrasing of my original question left a lot of leeway for interpretation so I need to redirect a little and refocus that question to be a bit more specific. Not to say the replies haven't been...
Platen pad replacement has been a think ever since the earliest days of borderless printing in larger format printers like the R1800 and R2400 so there's definitely plenty of opportunity for both planning and resources so respectfully, Epson themselves have no excuse. Service centre/tech...
As an aside, anyone who talks about fermenting used inks and paper in grannies basement to form a spreadable condiment will be soundly abused with Dad jokes so don't even think of it...
:smack :gig
I've been noticing more and more reports of printers getting errored out with phantom paper jams that seem to be related to both poor printer design and just cr*p user handling so I'm looking to compile a list of root causes and potential solutions that aren't based on cloned YouTube/blog...
Agreed... Worth noting that the platen pad is still a problem for the maintenance box style of printer and one of my contacts rang me to say that Epson had quoted them £900 (about $1100 US) to replace and reset this on the SC-P900...
:th
...I admit I died laughing at the absurdity of it all...
Just on this point, you are correct.. borderless printing will result in a service required call eventually... Takes quite a long time but if you can avoid it it's best.
Food for thought... In case it helps, I did tackle two printers over 10 years ago as a sort of "Is this worth it?" exercise, specifically the iP4000 and iP4200. Both required a lot of steps to disassemble the printer, lots of cables to disconnect and ultimately I found myself thinking that with...
Had a bit of a root around in the workshop recently and discovered two brand new printheads for the:
IP4300 iP5200 iP5200R MP600 MP600R MP800 MP800R MP830
Part ref:QY6-0061
They are boxed, sealed and have been sat gathering dust for best part of a decade so there may be someone out there who...
I'm probably teaching grandma to suck eggs here (English idiom) but that implies that the vent system isn't working properly.
I'd definitely be looking at that approach if you can manage it. Wonder what other goodies Epson has designed into their OEM carts to make that difficult though.
For the avoidance of doubt on this, yep, there is a commercial product but the purpose of this post is to solicit, nay beg for, feedback on this video with particular emphasis on two key questions:
Does it terrify the end-user and leave them running for the local recycling centre to dump their...
If I were a betting man I'd suspect that the compatible cartridges had faulty chips and the seller has gone AWOL because they realised it was a problem.
Recommend trying another source of the cartridges that has feedback and other indications that show they actually have a working product.
Same results here... Worth noting that the XP950 is very similar in design so if you can source that service manual that "should"(?) suffice.
As to the AdjProg, the only sources for those all require hardware id's and activation procedures, etc... If you're just wanted to reset waste ink...
I'm aware of them and have had some keys sent to me for evaluation (for resetting waste ink counters). They are promoted by some other experienced users in the YouTube sphere too.
However, my complaint with them is that they still haven't resolved the (alleged) false positive malware...
