Sorry to hear your problems. New cartridges seem to be the order of the day to get yourself printing again. Ink quantities in these carts is not great. An older model iP3500 if you can get one is a better bet and you can get a resetter for it which you can't get for the 2600 just yet. I also...
I am assuming that you are refilling Canon carts.
Refilling should cause no drying out problems provided the carts are not left out of the printer for long periods of time (say over an hour or two) therefore I cannot see you having any problems.
It is best to remove, refill, reset and replace...
Just received pads from a Forum member in Australia. What a great site. All up and running perfectly with no help from Canon who are just not not replying to any of my e-mails other than to acknowledge them. How on earth do they expect to keep customers if their service is as dismal as this.

No logic as such but as there was a misalignment on the nozzle test and normal alignment procedures failed to correct the problem I decided to start from scratch and put the print head way out of alignment. Before I did this however I thought it wise to remove , clean by flushing out with hot...
I had a similar problem with my iP3500 with the nozzle check producing "offset bars" No amount of redoing the print head alignment sorted this . I then removed the print head and carefully cleaned the terminals on the head and the contacts on the printer. I also flused the head under a farly...
Resetters will not work on newer smaller cartridges. However, rumour has it that a resetter will be out for these "shortly". Thats all I know for the moment

Thanks Ron. I wrongly thought that they would all be a standard size. I am getting one from Australia from a forum member who kindly offered it to me from an older iP3000. I will post again on receipt to confirm size. Is there a supplier anywhere for these? A neighbours pad from an i865 is the...
Thanks for the interest in this to all replies.
Have sent another e-mail to Canon giving them a broadside for their apparent lack of customer care. I stated that these pads are in common use in all 4 colour Canon printers and the fact that repairers cannot supply is beyond comprehension.
Lets...
Thanks for your help. Have tried Electroversal and CRC as recomended by Canon with no luck. Told printer no longer made and no spare parts - "Buy a new printer" all for a tuppeny piece of fibre. Will do as you say and look out for a duff printer somewhere unless I can make one out of some firm...
Thanks for the prompt reply. No sign of pad inside case. Have taken up the matter with Canon but they are asking me to send my printer to an authorised repairer for the pad to be fitted. Estimated cost 80. Given a pad and tweezers I could fit this in 10 seconds. What rip off - A ploy methinks to...
Keeping my print heads and purge unit clear is a priority for me and the advice available here is absolutely essential for anyone wanting to keep their printer in tip top condition.
However after looking at the various pics of purge pads in different Canon printers I looked closely at mine and...
Hi Pharmacist
Used all ink tec inks for a few years now. Had a few clog problems with "Dye" based inks and in fact recently had to return a printer with banding problems. May not have been directly attributed to inks but canon told me that it was a purge problem in the printer. Colours in inktec...
Just received Precision Colours 4oz pigment black and Dye C,Y &M. What a difference. All back to canon original colours again. Bought set of 4 for iP3000 instead of for my iP3500 (a lesson here in being more careful when ordering and not get too excited at the prospect of good inks) However...
Hi Just ordered 4 X 4oz kit of pigment black and dye C, M & Y from Precision Colours based in Canada. Cost inc P&P = 21.32 with $8.62 being postage. Sorry you need to convert the dollars. All in all a good deal and by all accounts on this forum good ink. Note Dollars are Canadian Dollars with...
Using inks from Pro Tec www.proprint.co.uk here in the Scottish Borders in my iP3500. Pigment black and Dye C M Y work very well and results compare favourably with Canon ink.
Helpfull company

Hi. Anyone tried the inks from Cartridge Logistics on e-bay. I noticed that they do both dye and pigment inks for Canon printers which seem specific to various models in 100ml and 500 ml quantities as well as complete sets of 4 or 5 bottles depending on printer. Seems a fairly comprehensive...
