Speed 3D Cad Modelling - Fun to watch!

I like 3D printing and I'm a novice at modeling. ... but I really enjoy watching people who are experts in their field (programmers, brick-layers, whatever) as they perform their mastery! So, this is a great combo of things I enjoy. Pretty interesting: Also, Two Bit Tony has a GREAT OnShape...

Smart Home Enthusiasts - Home Automation - Home Assistant Zigbee Z-Wave Matter etc.

Hey guys, this might be a bit of a stretch, but I thought I'd ask here just in case we have some experts: I'm going to be doing some robust home automation. I've been doing a TON of research, but I'm still trying to figure out a few things and need some advice. I've mainly used Google Home and...

Anniversary update on Standard Lamp Mark V..

Sorry for the loss of one of your arms! Great idea to have those chains supporting downward-force... and good point that it could have been a side-hit.

Am I defecting to Canon ?

I've had so many brands of printers (inkjet and laser) over the years... but Canon printers have a special place in my heart. ... which is why I splurged a bit and got a Canon Color Laser printer a few months ago :) The megatank printers are VERY interesting to me! I've been wanting to learn...

One video to bookmark as it may save a print for you.

I love Stephan's videos! I watched that one a couple years ago and used the technique a time or two. ... but mostly I don't print very large stuff, so if I have a fail, I just usually start over.

    What Are You Printing Today?

I needed some door latch / catch / clip / holders for my shed door, so I found a model already designed in the OnShape library and modified it to accept an m4 bold down the middle for added strength!

RatRig Vcore 4 - CoreXY with Hybrid mode option and/or Idex

Wow, some really innovative / interesting features! I don't think I'd ever be able to dive deep enough for a kit like this, but I LOVE seeing various companies (and individuals) coming up with new ideas in the space!

    What Are You Printing Today?

A few years ago I bought this razor: I like it (adjustable, etc.) for a great shave, but the handle is a bit smooth / slippery. I've seen a bunch of videos like the one below for shrink fitting parts together, so I decided to try it here! I printed a test fit sleeve that was kinda tight. I...

    Cheapest 3D printer ever?

I saw that! I think it's fun that he bought one and did a video. It's silly, but I bet if you showed that to a 3D printing hobbyist 10 years ago, it would blow their mind! LOL! I'm loving how accessible 3D printing has become. An entrepreneur friend of mine recently got a Bambu Labs printer...

Is your 3D printer killing you slowly?

Yup, I have similar thoughts. My frustration continues to be with regard to the binary nature of a lot of the warnings out there. It seems like something is either "good" or "bad". I know smoking is bad. I know x-rays are bad. I know breathing the air in many cities in India and China (and...

Creality Ender-3 V3 SE : Great Price - Solid Printer?

It's a great printer at that price! I saw the Ender 3 V3 KE on sale for $250 the other day and was tempted... but then I asked myself: "Why? You're happy with the SE, and haven't needed it to do anything it hasn't be able to do."

New Color Laser Printer - CRAZY LUCKY DEAL Brother HL-3170

The whole kit is about 1/2 of what I'd pay for a new printer that is about equally as good, so I doubt I'd go that direction. That said, your overall concept is solid... so I've ordered a $30 kit of both rollers and will give the repair a try. If it doesn't work, the I'll donate or scrap the...

New Color Laser Printer - CRAZY LUCKY DEAL Brother HL-3170

This little gem has been acting up :( Started with some minor, then significant ghosting, and also some light wrinkles on the page. I used ChatGPT to do some troubleshooting and turns out it suggested an issue with the fuser roller / assembly. I opened up the back of the printer and noticed...

2024 - Color Laser Printers - Which models are easiest to refill toner cartridges?

A few things I'm finding in my research: Many of the new printer's carts are chipped, but some aftermarket carts come with chips Some of the carts are a NIGHTMARE to refill... like taking the whole cart apart. Few are as easy as before (open cap, dump old toner, refill new toner, cap back in...

2024 - Color Laser Printers - Which models are easiest to refill toner cartridges?

Ah, gotcha. Ya, if the carts aren't super hard to refill, and I'm willing to refill black, then also refilling the other ones shouldn't be that much more of a hassle. Example: I don't remember refilling multi-color ink carts much more difficult than just refilling single-color back in the day.

2024 - Color Laser Printers - Which models are easiest to refill toner cartridges?

I'm looking to consolidate all my (and my GF's) various inkjet and laser printers into one big workhorse! So, I'm beginning my search for a good-quality multi-function color laser printer (flatbed/feeder scanner, copier, printer) that has toner cartridges that are the easiest to refill. ...

Is your 3D printer killing you slowly?

Very interesting. Some of those "dust" particles look pretty big. I have a bit of skepticism, but I'm hoping it would be really easy to duplicate his test / results by anyone with a 3D printer and UV light. *IF* it's easy to find those particles throughout the house as he shows, then that does...

    What Are You Printing Today?

I remember distinctly 5 years ago that a good buddy (that is very creative and had a 3D printer for years) said: "Once I got my 3D cutter / engraver, I barely ever use my 3D printer." I still have a hard time believing that, but maybe for some types of creators it could be as useful and even more?
