Hi everyone,
I made a custom ICC profile for another member here. Before we started he mentioned that the black ink cartridge might be giving black levels that are way "too black" compared to the OEM ink. Nozzle checks were all good, and there are no feed issues/leaks. His printer settings were...
This might not be exactly the info you need, but I used to calibrate my monitor with a Spyder2 and the included software. I then tried Argyll with it, and the profile was a bit better (grays were more neutral). This was on Windows. When I switched to linux, the results were the same as with the...
For color prints, the munki will give better results on one page, most of the time (IMHO). You can run the two sets of patches + two optimizations on a single sheet if you play around with the scaling features in the printer driver. The one issue i've had with the colormunki is a greenish cast...
If you absolutely want a pigment ink printer, maybe the Epson WF-2520 would work for you. it's inexpensive and uses pigment ink. Refillable cartridges with reset chips are available for it. This is a four color printer.
Have you considered looking for a used Canon all-in-one printer? That would...
Emulator, Ive done quite a few profiles since my last post in this thread.... one sheet of paper is enough if the printer/paper/ink combo was reasonably well behaved to begin with. If the results are not satisfying there are two things you can do...
1. you can redo a profile from scratch...
Normally you would need a hardware device to measure your monitor's response and create your profile for you. But those usually start at around 100$ which you might not want to spend.
There is a method on the cheap that while way far than perfect is better than leaving your monitor at the...
When I fill up brand "new" (flushed and never refilled), I leave the air vent uncovered after filling and let them sit for a week. During that time, tthe ink level in the chamber will go down, slowly migrating to the sponge. After a week, I remove the plug and top off the cart. This is just for...
I just sent you a PM. I have a set of these inks. The printer is dead so the ink bottles are yours if you're willing to pay for the shipping only. The ink was from inkjetcarts.us, known to be a good vendor.
A quick question for pharmacist.. I have 99% isopropanol and pure glycerin that my wife uses to make home made "clear" soap. Seems close enough to propylene glycol... do you think it would work? I have a couple of bone dry PGI-5 i'd like to condition before I try filling
thanks
Hi everyone, I recently had an interesting discussion with TheHat regarding what types of paper he uses for photos and other material and one of the hints he gave me was to look in the direction of papers destined to the digital printing business. Where I live these types of paper are extremely...
The Kirkland paper performs well above it's price point. Here in Quebec, it's only available in 8.5x11 but maybe you'll find 4x6 where you are. What printer are you using?
edit: I just had a look at the staples flyer for next week (starts tomorrow), they'll have 2 for 1 deals on HP or Epson...
Have you tried Costco for glossy paper? 150 sheets 8.5x11 for 20$ Also, Staples often have "buy 1, get 1" type of deals... A couple of weeks ago, I got two 50 packs (8.5x11 again) of Epson Premium Heavyweight matte paper for 17$, the canon matte paper was 15$ for 2 packs. For ink, Precision...
How are you refilling your ink cartridges? It could be that some air bubbles.. usually a quick clean or printing a few purge pattern pages fixes the issue. I'm guessing that's what happened because everything went back to normal after a while.
Another question... are you happy with the...
You said that now everything is back to normal? If this happens again, try a quick nozzle check. this almost looks as if one of the colors was not firing.
They seem to have pretty good deals (they claim 50% off), and I think someone here might have mentioned them before. A lot of stuff seems to be sold out, but some nice items are left. I won't be ordering there myself because their shipping prices to Canada are a bit outrageous. Could be...
I usually purge in the sink via the refill hole (top fill) until the sponge is as white as possible... To dry it, I just blow with my mouth overthe refill hole. Like the hat mentionned, it's as effective as a small compressor, just a bit "low tech".
I leave the carts to dry for 24 hours.. when...
For your R220 and your R300, I would just go with this http://www.precisioncolors.com/E6aref.html I tried the MIS/Inksupply carts a long time ago when I still had my R220. I didn't like them. At least didn't like the ones I had at the time. The plugs were fuzzy to pull out for a refill and...
I also have a 1280. It doesn't see as much use, mainly used to print from Autocad to larger paper so for this one I opted for compatible cartridges. Inksupply.com is a good choice. Their ink is good quality, but a bit costly. An alternative would be buying ink from Precision Colors. Mikling will...
