Why clear cartridges on the Canon Pro-100?

I might be going to the US at the end of the month, i'll keep an eye open, I thought the current aggressive prices in the states were mail in rebates. I don't think they would respect those for a US bought printer brought back to Canada

Why clear cartridges on the Canon Pro-100?

I wonder if there are ever going to be any rebates on the PRO-100 in Canada as we can see in the US. I would love to have a backup for my aging IP4500! Right now, if I had to buy a new printer, I would probably get an Epson 1430, because of the price. Mikling, you're in Toronto, no? I think...

local canon service center sneer down their clients

I'm surprised that they wasted 15 carts in cleanings and that the waste pad is only at 4.1%. If you're not satisfied with the service center, why not simply contact canon directly and complain? http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Consumer_Products/Telephone_Numbers/telephone_numbers.aspx

    MG5320 Compatible Ink Problems

Some aftermarket inks, even if especially formulated for Canons can have slightly different color but it shouldn't be way off. Can you maybe link to the ink? We'd be able to see if it's at least safe for your printhead. If it's not, I highly recommend you look at other vendors. If it is, and...

T007/T009 Spongeless Refillable ink flow problems

I got a message from Clinton.. he pushed down on the plug a bit more and it was fine after that.

T007/T009 Spongeless Refillable ink flow problems

I was thinking that whatever air was escaping from the refill plugs might be "kept in" by a layer of aluminum tape over the plugs. By your picture I see that the fill plug holes are lower than the top of the cartridge itself. Just tape over the top/gap. MIS in their docs mention leaking can be a...

T007/T009 Spongeless Refillable ink flow problems

I wouldn't tamper with the air vents... leave them as-is they were designed that way. If you restrict them in any way, you might have the same problem you had in the beginning with ink starvation. Definitely try some aluminum tape over the ink refill plugs to make sure no air is getting in...

T007/T009 Spongeless Refillable ink flow problems

The carts -may- have been damaged a bit by the vacuum created by not having pulled out the air vent plugs. Looking at the instructions from MIS for those carts, it seems that these cartridges will leak if the ink refill plug is not in real snug. Looking at your purge pattern, it seems that only...

chasl, I just sent you a PM. I don't have a business doing this but maybe I can help you out

T007/T009 Spongeless Refillable ink flow problems

I'm looking at different pictures of these carts.. they seem to have one plug for refilling, and a second plug that need to be removed while the carts are in the printer. On some of these carts the "air" plug is just clear plastic. If you didn't remove that, you might have the problems you are...

Got an Epson 1280 for 20$ :) What compatible cartridges can I use?

I ended up pulling out the carts that were in the printer and replacing them with new compatible ones. I haven't had a single issue with the printer since. I'm thinking maybe the previous owner was getting bad nozzle checks frequently because of the carts and felt it was time to let it go. (his...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

You're right, the blues ARE pretty dull in that image. I do have a "colorchecker mini" here. I think i'll pull it out just to compare. Personally, I really like the Datacolor test image. It's a very good test for greens, blues and black and white details.

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

The one I sent him was directly from Dry Creek. Seems to have worked out nicely. http://www.drycreekphoto.com/tools/test_images/DCP-TestImage-Small.zip

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

I just received a message from the end-user of the profile. The dry creek version of the PDI test image printed nicely!!! The black on the color chart looks good, all the patches are now visible in the Kodak grayscale. The end of the grayscale in the small IT8 has a small area crushed to black...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

Mikling, i'm pretty sure what you describe about the "B" on the grayscale is exactly what is being seen on the test prints. I haven't seen the actual prints, just a scan of them. I also had a look at your profiles, they are for different papers that the one that I profiled but I pointed him to...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

Turboprint for me has been a god send for me on Linux. Support for Canon printers is horrible on Guttenprint. My IP4500 would give me terrible colors unless I set Guttenprint to CMYK mode, and even then, it was not nearly as good as TP. The ink limit settings works very well too, I was able to...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

thanks for the answer Mikling. For the carts, he mentioned that he purged then before filling with the new ink. I had recommended he print at least 5 to 10 full color pages to not have too much of a mix in the printhead. If there is any shifting, it should be minimal. I think he purchased your...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

PeterBJ, it's the first thing I asked him before we began the profiling process and he mentioned his problem. Smile: unfortunately I never got to mesure the OEM ink. I'm in a different province as the printer, so I have to take the person's word that there was a difference between the IS ink...

MG6220 and ink from Precision Colors... Black is too black?

Argyll generates it's own targets, according to the specs you give the "targen" command. In this case I specified around 1500 patches. Each argyll target is different and the patch values are recorded in a CGATS format file. I don't have the same sophisticated equipment you have (ISIS and...
