I think the reds are a little bit more saturated in the OEM print. The OEM grays seems to be a tiny bit more neutral. I'm sure the STS ink would look just as good if not better than OEM with a custom profile.
I wouldn't recommend ecigs if you're not smoking anything.. why put something in your body that doesn't belong there? But if you are still stuck on tobacco, it's a great tool to quit.
Anyways, sorry for steering this thread off topic :)
The reason your pharmacist freaked out is that some people use PG to make liquid used in e-cigarettes. Here in Canada, typically pharmacists will look at your strangely, then order it for you lol.
Plumbing supply stores may have it too, as it can be used as an anti-freeze. It can also be used...
I no longer have a CD printer, but on the canon IP4500, Turboprint worked quite well. I used Glabels with a custom template I built that would print exactly in the right spot for the tray this printer uses. The official Turboprint documentation suggests sending a 14x14cm square with a 1cm margin...
Looks like scaning a print is not that great an idea.. it doesn't do the printer justice.
The actual print has much better sharpness, vivid colors and neutral grayscale (no parts turned green). The scan doesn't look anywhere near as good
I would still recommend a real photo printer, but this...
I have a WP4090, which is essentially the same printer as yours. Same printhead, same carts. I'm using it with refillable cartridges with dye inks instead of pigment (for better results on glossy paper)... The original OEM ink is pigment based so I use a custom profile for the dye ink. With the...
just for fun, I re-read the entire thread. If anyone is still wondering after so many years why I was using LPT3: is that it's a port which typically does not physically exist on any computer. In the old DOS days, LPT1: was the port used for old parallel connection printers. All versions of...
I hear dye ink takes more time to stabilize than pigment. Who knows maybe 10 minutes is enough with a pigment printer, but I always wait at least 24 hours. I haven't seen any difference with my printer and papers with more than that, but there is a minimum. The 10 minutes for the colormunki...
There are no best values.
I try to not keep it too far off from it's native white point. My old monitor was calibrated at D50 (native 5400). My new monitor is 6400K native white point, I calibrated it to D65. Truth is the eyes adapt really quickly as long as your profile is good and the...
Hello,
I have a Canon Pixma IP4500 for sale. It's a Canadian printer, so it includes the CD tray. I bought it 7 years ago and has only seen moderate usage. It was always used with refilled OEM carts.
It still somewhat works. Not all photo black nozzles are firing. I've moved on after finding a...
I received the replacement from Epson a couple of days ago.. so far so good. Even before I profiled the dye ink, I was getting a decent match between the monitor and printer. Actually, much better than any other printer i've used so far, out of the box, with no profiles!
The reason I wanted to...
Thanks for the comments everyone. I won't be able to discuss my results right away. The unit I received was defective. Turned it on and had horrible grinding noises. I ended up calling Epson support who had me unplug it a couple of times. Now it's stopped grinding but after a few seconds, all...
Hi everyone, I don't see many threads on the Epson Workforce Pro printers.
I was able to find a pretty good deal on a WP-4090 printer. 55 $CDN which is about 50$ USD. My Canon IP4500 has seen better days. I don't print CDs and photos much anymore so I figured "mehhh why not". I love that the...
Hi duncan22... Don't replace your printer just yet... I have an IP4500, which I believe has the same print head as your MP600. There are ways around your issues. You could try to install your printer as an IP4500 in CUPS. As strange as it may seem, just make sure you tell the driver to use CMYK...
Lookup the average command in argyll... you can take multiple readings and have Argyll combine them.. I'm not sure it's worth the effort if you are content with a profile but it can be worth a try in those cases where your results are less than ideal
Sorry to butt in.. ;) I found a company local to me that has tons of different papers. I am thinking of visiting them on monday to pickup a few different ones to try.
Can anyone make some recommendations based on what they have? their site is papex dot ca
