Hi All, luckily I could leave the photos back up open to the air for almost a week now. Just to report, the inks is essentially dry, except for heavy smearing. It's dry enough now that I can put the photos, back to back with perhaps onion skin between, in an envelope to send out with Christmas...
Once again, good advice.
I will see if I can find either some of the paper that has "paper" on the back, for the photos that I need to mark up, my writing is just not nice enough for "archival" notes. I will need to keep using my regular paper for all the other photos. I had bought a big...
As the subject says, I need to find a way of drying the ink printed on the back of my photos. In an attempt to provide extra information for details, particularly people, shown in the photos I printed that information on the back side.
This information seems to be wanted by the younger...
Hi, I have been using OctoInkjet inks for my Pro-100 for a long time. That supplier sent me a set of Precision Color (Dyebase 2) bottles which they were testing a couple of years ago. I don't know anything about those inks.
My question here is, does anyone have knowledge if those inks are...
Hi @TDE8.
First I would say "don't" do anymore cleaning cycles. If the ink is really plugging a channels it would only serve to add to the plug.
I would recommend to begin by removing the cartridges, lightly stick tape over the cartridge ink outlets to keep them moist. Don't let any tape...
Over the years I have, because of my development misadventures ^_^, had to rebuild my computer a number of times. Yes, I have also had the odd WiFi issue with WPS.
I would say that you can still get it from Canon. If not maybe one of the other printer gurus here can help with a download. If...
The first thing that needs to be answered is, is my Pro-100 a Pixma or not. I see the "Pro-100" listed both ways. But that may not really be important, because they, if there are in fact 2 different models, would be similar vintage.
Regarding whether a Pro-100 works on Windows 10, I can say a...
If Windows 10 or 11 doesn't pop up a driver, I would try to find older 32bit drivers. It's a good chance that those will install on Win 10 or 11. The 2 systems still have the old Win32 libraries.
I use a lot of "old" software, and they are 32bit, like DropBox, RBtray, setVol, Screen Caliper...
@avolanche, I am running Win 10, and I have had essentially no problems upgrading from Win 8.1. I had use my own Win install program to upgrade, then I used the Canon CD to install my Pro-100. I had an issue with getting my Wifi to detect the printer, but that had more to do with "me" and...
I have a Pro-100 for many years. I have 3 sets of cartridges that I refill and the use to replace in-printer cartridges when I get a low warning. The scheme has worked extremely well. I print say 5 pages a day. Once a month I print something that needs the 8.5x17 inch paper. Twice a year I...
I have a long outstanding question in this regard. On so called "larger" or "large" tank printers, is there a concern of inks settling, or clumping, or drying, etc. ?
In other words, are there any concern about long term, especially when the ink levels would last a long time in printers that...
I concur. The free version is only useful for your "one" computer. But it's great for that. I hadn't meant it for more complicated jobs. If I needed that, or more so "when" I need that, I would be inclined to purchase the pro version, because AOMEI does a good job. It seems a very robust...
Ouch. This gets into some tricky stuff, and the totally off the cuff advice. A couple of things I might try.
First, you might have already attempted this, unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable while it hangs, but wait, say 20 sec, between each step. Or unplug the printer, reboot, run the...
Hello @baumgrenze, This may be a redundant question, but have you downloaded the latest software for your printer from Canon. I have a Pro-100, and I started having all sort of issues when I was still running Windows 8.1.
When I switched to Windows 10 22H2, the Windows driver were not...
One of the things I really like is the Preview feature of the Pro-100, before giving the last "OK to print". But there is an issue that seems to be with the "Preview" feature cropping the right edge off the image.
The first image below shows the full right edge of a Visa statement in an PDF...
Be aware that too many cleaning cycles in a short time is not good for the print head.
I have mentioned this before.

Check out what I have said before, on Oct 21, 2022.
I have made drivers work (on Windows 8.1), by the following:
right-clicking on the exe file
select Properties,
pick the Compatibility Tab,
check mark the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
then select either Windows 7,
or, by trial and error, go down to earlier versions of OS until...
Just a reminder! It's good practice to follow the rule of no more than 2 cleaning cycles per hour to prevent overheating then nozzles. You might think that if you do other printing in between cleaning cycles, it's still the nozzles that don't work well that might not put enough ink through and...
