Inky:
I Emailed you a profile for the Formulabs BCI-6, for the IP5000. This profile may not work with the I960 or any other 6-color printer, I did not tested on any of them.
I also have something else for you to try. This method will give you personal control over what color shift you prefer...
Modeler:
I filled empty cartridges with a 50/50 mix of windex and alcohol and a few drops of ink. I then run a few deep cleaning and leave them in until I need to reuse the printer. Since I do that, I have not experienced any clog. That may be just coincidence but it works for me.

Inky:
Let me know what settings you are using when you are printing with Canon ink and getting good results.
From the printer properties COLOR MANAGEMENT (Automatic) or (Manual) and which profile.
From the printer driver:
MEDIA TYPE
COLOR ADJUSTMENT
EFFECTS
What kind of paper are you using...
Inky:
I think I understand your dilemma.
No ink is good enough for any job, not Canon not any.
For example, I print photos of coins with a slight tarnishing, and most inks dont recreate a realist color. On prints of gold and silver coins the slightest shift in color is magnified many times...
To Inky:
Formulabds has many different formulas of ink for Canon printers.
The problem is that everyone sell them as BCI-6 cartridges because they are the most in demand.
By using only one ink they save in manufacturing of ink.
Formulabs does not manufacture cartridges with ink, they only...
Formulabs sells about 10 different formulas of ink for the Canon printers.
From the information I am getting, some of these sellers are using the BCI-5 formula, which makes prints yellow and green.
I would suggest that people buy just the ink and refill themselves.
The BCI-6 Formula prints on...
The ip5000 is not like any of the other 4-color printers of Canon. It is by far the best and its color profiles are also the best.
One of the advantages of the ip5000 is that is you are going to use non OEM ink you will find it easier to match, that is not the case with the others.
Another...
To Endnukbud:
I own both 1pl and 2pl. I would buy the ip5000, even if it cost more money.
First I find the prints to be better quality. Second, if you are going to use Canon ink, the ip5000 uses about 50% or more less ink, that will amount to a huge saving.

Inky:
In response to your Email.
I ran tests on Formulabs inks for the ip5000 and the i960. After running about 300 pages of test, I found out that the prinhead on the ip5000 had been clogged by ColorBat ink that I had tested previously.
Non OEM inks seem to have different results on...
Try unclogging the Cyan nuzzle on the printhead, it sounds like you are not getting enough Cyan ink. if you have an empty Cyan cartridge, fill it with Windex, and print about 5 pages of just Dark Cyan. It would be even better if after running the 5 pages you let it sit overnight and repeat the...
To Grandad:
I have always been concerned about the use of alcohol for cleaning the printhead. I read somewhere that what causes the ink to be ejected from the head is an electric charge, which causes a mini- explosion in the printhead. My concern is that it may cause a fire.
Does anyone know...
To Grandad:
I have experienced complete clogs with MIS and especially Colorbat inks. I also found that the Worm-Water sold by ColorBat clogged my printheads.
I was able to unclog the heads easily by using the following method. I first rinse the printhead of all exterior ink and remove the...
Belen:
I know that certain companies sell special ink for black & white prints. If something is to Magenta all you have to do is remove subtract some magenta. You can also create Magenta by adding more Cyan and Yellow.
Cyan & Yellow = Green
Yellow & Magenta = Red
Cyan & Magenta = Blue
Green &...
Hi Belen:
I have Inkgrabber cartridges, but they are the old ones and I believe that they changed their ink. If you want I can run a test but I dont think the results will be the same, assuming they changed the ink they use.
I also believe that Sansient/Formulabs has a South America...
First to Bolen:
I have tried the screws with a rubber washer and they work great, it becomes messy during refills. The rubber plugs I suggested are great. They dont create a mess and I have never had a leak, I have refilled hundreds of times. I had some problems with plastic plug, but not...
These Calibration gadgets are overrated and are not what they are made out to be. I own SpyderPro2 and others. They are good for calibrating your monitor, but when it come to the printer they are a joke.
There are some very expensive ones, that are good, but they run in the thousands of...
