I have some color photographs that I scanned in black and white and printed in gray scale mode. They print with a greenish tone. My printer is a MP-600 and I use ink from Ink Supply(MIS). I had assumed that printing in gray scale mode would use only the black ink but this looks more like a 3...
I've been using ink from inksupply.com for years, through at least 6 printers and have always been pleased with the results. I now have a MP-600 and have refilled many times. Inksupply is now selling empty PGI5 and CLI8 compatible carts for refilling without chips. They come with a fill hole...
Re: Resetter for the 620 carts. I was just looking at a resetter on ebay for the CLI8, PGI5 carts and the company said they had given up on trying to break the chip code but were selling auto reset chips for those carts.
Propylene glycol is not vehicle anti freeze-it is RV antifreeze used to keep pipes from freezing and is not toxic. Ethylene glycol is vehicle anti freeze and is toxic. don't use it because if a pet or child injests it it can kill.
I once had a printer that used56/57/58 cartridges. I had a cross contamination problem with a 57 cart. I taped a thick wad of paper towels to the head a couple of times to wick all the ink out of it. I then refilled it with water and repeated the wicking till all the water was out. I then...

Got the following off a computer board I frequent. I've used the PGI-5, CLI-8 compatibles and they worked well. They are compatible and...
You will want to get the needle to the bottom of the foam or else you risk an air pocket which will not allow ink flow. The cartridges need to be filled from the bottom up.
You can get a set of 5 CLI-8,PGI-5 compatibles from Swift Ink for $30. When I bought mine they were 2 for 1. They are compatibles and work well but are not using OEM carts or chips.
The paper path is straighter using the rear feeder. The paper must do a 180 degree turn out of the front feeder. My MP600 feeds much more reliabley from the rear feeder.
This is a 103 inch solvent ink printer - right? Do you have a source for the specific ink it requires? What tupe of cartridgres does it use? I notice it has an option for a continuous supply system-have you considered that? This isn't a common printer and info from the forum might be...
Anybody interested in a decent printer at a really good price should check the Canon MX 700 at Staples.com. It is currently $70 shipped after an instant $30 rebate. I bought one for my son a week ago at $100 and after contacting them today they credited my credit card for $30. It uses PGI5...
Going back to page one of this thread. Ruri said he's looking for an AIO that will scan film. Will any of Canon's AIOs do that? Doesn't it require a light source behind the film or negative? Just wondering.
I have the blue one. It features an easily replacable battery. The red one operates the same but is not designed to have the battery repaced-you must cut the bottom off and resecure it with screws.
