Lol... I'm up to a few now. I guess you can never have too many?!?
Printers out of box:
1 - iP4600
2 - iP4700
2 - MX860
1 - Pro9000
1 - iP6000D (newest addition to the family :) )
Printer still in box:
2 - iP4700 $40 each
4 - MP980 $39 each
1 - MX860 $50
1 - MP560 $50
I suppose that this...
I for one am hoping that someone cracks the chips on these printers. Although I wont. Need to buy any new printers for a long time since I capitalized heavily when Canon liquidated all of the Cli-221 series printers.
The purge pump doesn't just suck the ink out, the nozzles also fire (like when the printer is printing) to expel the ink out. In that way, even if your purge unit is not working, ink will still come out of the printhead during a purge/cleaning cycle.
While Ghwells's tests may not actually...
If you're unsure of the quality of the inks, don't use them. I would only use quality ink from a reputable source, you'll get better quality output and less clogging/problems down the road.
This question still hasn't been answered:
How physically different are the CLI-221 and CLI-226 cartridges? For example; would it be possible to transplant a CLI-226 chip onto a CLI-221 cartridge and gain at least the visible ink reservoir window?
Those series of HP printers can be a nightmare once they start to clog. I had two L7680s... neither one lasted more than six months. Multiple printheads (many under warranty). I tried all sorts of things to prolong their life but I finally just gave up.
Websnail has had quite a fight with...
Please note that I am not spamming and I can't even verify if this is real or not but these guys (SEE EDIT) http://www.inkcityusa.com/Refill-Kit-For-Canon-IP4820-MG5120-MG5220-Cartridge-CLI-226-PGI-225.html
(SEE EDIT) Claim to have a working CIS system with ARC chips for the CLI-226 series...
The ip4500 has a higher quality construction, higher capacity cartridges, and wastes less ink than the MP980. B&W photos SHOULD be a bit nicer on the MP980 due to the gray ink. Color photos should be almost exactly the same on both.
You also have to ask yourself how much the copier/scanner...
Although I have not used OCP inks, I have not heard any "bad" reviews about the them. They would probably be a good choice for a user that goes through lots of ink.
The downside for most users is that in the U.S. at least the distributor (Rjettek) only sells in large volumes. Usually 16oz is...
When you are using a CIS system your printer thinks that it still has normal cartridges installed. As you print the "ink level" will decrease as normal, except with a reset button CIS system when the printer shows "ink empty" you just press the reset button and your ink level will show full...
Well I guess we'll see if my resetter will reset the gray cartridge as well. I just ordered 5 of them. At $39.99 it's too good of a deal to pass up, if not just for the cartridges. Even if the printer doesn't last too long I will have enough CLI-221 printers to go around for a long time... :)...
esp,
The solution is to buy some cartridges like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Non-OEM-refillable-ink-cartridges-HP-02-D7260-D7268-/280588652579?pt=BI_Toner&hash=item4154631023
then just dump the ink that comes in them and replace it with your quality ink before use.
I'm not sure about this, but in the Pro9000 driver there are two options for cleaning and deep cleaning.
Bank 1 (BK, R, G, PC, PM) and Bank 2 (C, M, Y).
It MAY only prime the bank that you switched the cartridge out on, but I don't know that for sure.
Either way, the Pro9000 does not drink...
