    CLI-220 221 resetters

I've only used the german method of refilling so I can't comment on the plugs. The resetter that I bought from refillbay.com has been working fine so far with my CLI-221 and PGBK-220 cartridges.

    Hp l7680

Do not use a CISS or most refillable cartridges with this printer... you will go through printheads very quickly as they all lack the priming/pump bulb that the factory cartridges have. In the print settings you can choose black/white and then black cartridge only. This will lower the use of...

    Printer to buy

The 221 (521) inkset has small cartridges, but they can also be easily refilled and reset. Besides the more frequent refilling they are not a bad choice.

Very cool! Which inks are you using? Are they an off the shelf or special mix?

    Strange problem with MP540...

If it doesn't show ink on the sponge then it is CLOGGED. Don't print anymore with this cartridge! It's ink flow has been impaired. Either buy a new OEM cartridge or purge (flush out) the cartridge that you have. Just because the carts are full doesn't mean that the ink is migrating...

    Strange problem with MP540...

It looks to me like your photo black cartridge (or other cartridge) is starving the print head for ink. Look closely at the BK portion of your nozzle check (the heavy bars to the left).

    HP C5380 all-in-one

When the printer went to print the alignment page, did it print at all? Or was it just still missing all of the black causing the alignment to fail? Also... I'm not sure if the newer all in ones have the same "service mode" access as my C7280s, but on those when at the home screen you can...

KMP Ink : Success - Now a question

I haven't tried the Image Specialists Pigment Ink. Maybe I will after my KMP runs out. The Hobbicolors certainly is inexpensive, but the output while satisfactory wasn't as good as OEM in my iP4700. Maybe in other printers (the older ones i.e. PGI-5 and older) it works better?

Thinking of upgrading your printer to get better photos?

Mikling, Thank you for your wonderful guide and for all of your contributions on this board. It is because of people like you that I have been inspired to try and understand color profiling. My profiled prints using aftermarket inks are now better than my OEM Canon inks without a custom...

KMP Ink : Success - Now a question

Just a quick review to add to this thread. I ordered some KMP ink from OctoInkjet after reading this thread, and have finally got around to using it in my iP4700. I, like most was very happy with the Canon OEM Pigment black ink. It was always very clear and crisp. After the OEM ink ran out...

    Prevent clogging

Keep trying. Two days isn't that much. Sometimes it takes a week or more to unclog stubborn clogs with Windex. Be vigilant, most of the time it pays off. If it's just a stubborn clog eventually it will come with the Windex. If it's burned out electronics then you're out of luck.

Pro9000 Hobbicolors Inks ... Magenta Cast

Well guys I don't have time to write a full in-depth report at this moment but I thought that I would give a quick update. Last Saturday I ordered the Profile Prism software. I spent an hour or so each day both fooling with the printer (trying to get it to make the best prints by manual...
