I only get the paper jam alert when using photoshop so I think it is not problem of the paper - or am I wrong?

no in my opinion it is no paper jam. If I pull out the paper it has o damage or dents. If I reuse the very same paper with the epson printing tool it works. There is also no format warning.

I tested 4 different types of paper, on all the same result, magenta is matte. So the invest in OEM magenta did not show the success I hoped for :-(

in the meantime I put in two new cartrdges with OEM VM and LVM ink, after 2 cleaning cycles and printing two a4 sheet with a magenta rectangular I still see only a very small improvement over the OCP ink. The magenta areas a still matte on glossy paper. Any recommendations?

Just for Information: I mailed OCP when they can offer inks for the R3000. They stated that other things have higher priority at the moment and that they won't offer inks for the Epson R3000 "in near futur".

Have you tried TPI 240g Paper? You get it from Conrad Electronic in Stuttgart from 10x15cm to A3+ all over the year in glossy and lustre.

Can the counter for the waste ink tank be reset?

Do I have to use the original Epson cartridges to initialise the printer or could this be done with the refillable cartridges. If I could sell the sealed original epson cartridges this would probably pay me a set of ink and refillable cartridges.
