I haven't been taping the holes on my refilled carts and I'm starting to regret it. The inside of one of my printers has blue all over the
rollers. Sometimes when I feel ambitious I pull the chassis off and clean them out pretty good.
Took the plunge and ordered the squeeze bottles, I'm...
Just tonight I was thinking how I would love to have squeeze bottles instead of syringes!
I'm inspired, I'd love to source these locally, but if not I'll order them, just for the sheer time it will save me.
Thanks for the post!
Dollarama sells refill kits for 1.00, I use the needles for the German method AFTER I use the longest sewing needle I can find to make the channel.
If you want to order online, you can order from sellink.ca in their accessories section, and I might add their ink is decent too.

The pic with arrow is the front underside of the printer. (take paper tray out)
It's a bugger to get them all, but the chassis comes off with just those type of tabs, and IIRC the Ip4500 they've added 2 tabs around the lid of the printer...
I refill a lot. Occasionally, I get a stubborn clog and I run cleaning cycle after cleaning cycle trying to unclog it.
I never really paid attention to the cartridge flushing posts, I figured they we over exuberant when it came to dealing with cartridge restoring.
I've had clogs and pulled the...
I hit the intake and outlets with one of those cheap steamer cleaning tools with great success. I even use it to soften up a cartridge that's not outputting properly after flushing it.
Of course because it is very hot steam you need to be careful applying it, and only should use it if you feel...
From what I understand when a canon print head dies sometimes, is because it's not heating the ink correctly in the print head.
I have a print head where I even dismantled it to unclog it, and it was obvious after doing so that it was a failure of the print head and not a run of the mill clog...
It's a different chip for each color.
Here's the easiest way to attach a chip. If you see the two plastic terminals to mount the chip onto, do that then hit it for 1 seconds with a solder iron and they will stay put. Much easier than trying to glue or tape them on.
If you find a friendly local...
Just thought I'd throw this out there, seeing as at least once a week I pass up beautiful printers because I already have too many!
If you are in North America, check Value Village & Goodwill.
You taking a gamble that it was donated damaged, but most of the time, people donate when their...
I just buy the ink, it's expensive to buy 250 ml of each color, but it will pay off very quickly.
The needle is in the inkjet accessories section, make sure you buy a few syringes too
remember you need 2 types of black, pigment black and photo black
I bought 6 kits from china and after the first two kits not working I had enough. You'll spent more time troubleshooting CIS.
CIS + epson =easy no problems
CIS+ Canon =nightmare
I like the print speed of the quality of the Canon much better, so I finally went to refilling using the German...
Long story short, I have Ip4300.Ip 4500 series printers. I just recently got a working resetter (redsetter).
Before I had this re setter I would occasionally get unrecognized ink tank messages directly after refilling.
When I bought the resetter I started resetting the carts just before I...
make sure all your chips on your cartridges are clean.
If this doesn't work you have to rotate each cartridge with a new one until you find the bad cartridge.
From my own experience with the ip4300, usually it meant having to throw a new cartridge in to get the printer to unlock.
(After buying...
The 4500's are disappearing fast in Canada, with Staples blowing them out the door at 39.99 as discontinued. Online searches will not pull up the IP4500 on the Staples canadian website.
Having finally been able to reset the cli-8 series of cards, I would advise Canon fans to grab an Ip4500...
Hiya,
Just caught your post.
I'm in Canada, which may explain why I've gotten it with no hassles.
I've gotten 2 actually, in retrospect it's probably good to order more than one for the size of the carton they ship it in.
Cost is about $11 total for 1 tray+shipping
