    I give up! I never said a rash of failures, it has happened in the past to me and others. It was just a suggestion to the OP that he may just have a bad print head. Two new cartridges and a print head and capping station cleaning would have solved this in about an hour. You guys really drag...

    True, but I have seen this pop up as a problem more than a few times. I just posted one link that I had bookmarked. If the OP pulls the print head and cleans it properly, cleans the capping station, puts in two new OEM cartridges and still has the problem then I would say it's a bad printhead...

    This is a known problem of internal cracks with Canon print heads, I have had it happen, as others, the cartidges usually get comtaminated due to it. Bottom line you most likely need a new print head. Bob P.
