If there is no problem with printhead clogging and dripping, then this is probably the best refillable cartridge ever! These chinese are really smart! Bad english, but good products!
as far as i know, in a i860, the bci-3eBK is a pigment based black ink. while the bci-6bk is a dye based black ink.
pigment based ink is intended for crisp black and white text, while the dye based is for better photo quality.
with regards to the other non-black cartridge, i think canon uses the...
Grandad, actually, I've been into refilling since 1995, when I first got my bubblejet printer, a canon BJC-4000. That time, I really have no idea about ink viscocity, ink compatibility, etc. I first got into refilling when I saw in a store an ink refilling kit for canon, this one carries the...
The only problem I see with alotofthings is this:
They sell the inks and cartridges in sets. I see myself printing more photos than text, with the ink cartridges I ordered, 4 bc3e blacks, 2 bci-6 blacks, 2 bci-6 cyans, 2 bci-6 magenta, 2 bci-6 yellow, I have more pigment based blacks than my...
Ocular, I'm a filipino working in Saudi Arabia, and going home on vacation to the Philippines by the end of this month.
Since alotofthings don't ship outside the USA, I had a friend of mine order it for me, His sister is coming home this month and she's bringing the inks for me. I'll get it when...
if that sponge is comercially available in the supermarket, then we can even extend the life of the cartridge and refills even longer! we'll just have to find a cartridge that can be easily opened and resealed. :)
I'm afraid that if they can't prevent third party ink suppliers from selling compatible inks, they will be forced to sell cheap printers that won't last long. If they can't force us to use disposable carts, then they'll make disposable printers!!!
the way i understand it is this, selling the acrylic holders is by itself a waste of money. it comes free when you purchase the arrowjet carts. it may be just a few cents worth, and shipping them is not economically viable, unless you order by the hundreds. why order them separately anyway? get...
It will be a while Rob, probably in a month. I'm going in vacation in the Philippines, and I will be doing my printing there. i'm bringing those inks too. :)
Do keep us updated on this one, Rob, I have ordered 40oz total of alotofthings bulk inks and 12 cartridges of arrowjet for the pixma ip4000, but haven't tried them yet.
Well, about a month ago I was choosing between colorbat and alotofthings, but with the problems colorbat is having with his cyan and magenta inks, i opt for alotofthings (which is highly recommended by this forum, by the way ;) .)
I applaud colorbat's honesty in informing us about the problems...
do keep us updated on that sara_can, if no problem arises on that experiment, then we can indeed add that as one of the solutions in solving printhead clogging. :)
as far as i know, alotofthings have a great customer satisfaction rating, about 99% in ebay.
and it is highly recommended by nifty-stuff, which has far more experience than me when it comes to refilling inks.
clogging will always happen, even when you use OEM carts. the best way to avoid...
the rainbow carts are alternatives to the OEM carts by canon. you can refill it just like the way you refill your OEM carts, by drilling a hole, etc.
the arrowjet carts are designed to be refilled. you don't have to drill holes. there is a plugged hole wherein you can remove the rubber plug and...
According to neilsade, using a can of compress air would work wonders on clogged printheads. Haven't tried that yet though, but would try it once my printheads get clogged.
Soaking them in 'distilled water' won't damage the printhead, as long as you let it dry first before using it again.
I...
