The Ink Tank Full message error, the only thing I'm dreading the most!
Excellent post Craig, It is just very comforting that if this happens, there is a way to fix it.
Ha! Sometimes I don't even know anymore which is more fun to do, printing, or refilling!
Not seldom have I opened the printer cover to check how much ink is left in the cartridges and find myself dissapointed because I didn't find any single cartridge that needs refilling!
This is 'scary' stuff. I sure wish somebody can give you a solution. All of the solutions I could think of, you've tried already, except for replacing the printhead. You probably have a faulty printhead, but then again, I can't guarantee that's the problem.
I'm sure somebody here can find a way...
I was planning on starting a thread about CD Printing but Grandad beat me to it. :)
I bought my canon printer in the Philippines, at almost double the price of their US counterparts. It does have the CD Printing feature though.
Have a good time printing on CDs too. Even if I can't find any...
I remember having a fingerprint mark on one of my newly printed photo as it came out of my printer. That was weird. Then when I printed another one, it's gone. So what I did is, I hold a new photo paper and put my finger on the area I now my printer will be printing on, and when I printed again...
I think it is pre-programmed to fail, because of this line in the manual:
"Specified print volume (I) or the years of use (II), whichever comes first."
Of course, practically speaking, I will find myself using another printer other than the printer I am using now because I know newer...
That's what most of us, Canon users are dreading, the 'waste tank full' error.
But that doesn't mean your printer's damaged. It just means that the waste tank where the the wasted ink are collected is already full.
Since I am not technical enough to offer a technical solution, my only suggestion...
I downloaded this service manual and browsed it, and I find this portion very very very troubling:
1-3. Product Life
(1) Printer
Specified print volume (I) or the years of use (II), whichever comes first.
(I) Print volume
Black 1,500 character pattern 7,200 pages
Color A4, 7.5% duty per color...
No Rob, that post was the one i posted after i posted here.
I also remembering changing my info profile a few days ago to identify that I have finally used the cyan and magenta bulk inks I've ordered, and then just noticed this morning that my profile has reverted back to my old one, which...
I dunno why my last post at this thread got deleted or erased... :(
Anyway, I just would like to tell everybody that like Rob, the feeling of being able to print anything you want without worrying about the cost of your printing has set me free!
Yeah, I could still remember everytime I want to...
I'm having excellent results so far with the alotofthings bulk inks i've purchased. So far I haven't experienced any clogs, banding etc.
The colors are vibrant and matches OEM prints too.
So far, I am using the cyan, magenta, and yellow inks from alotofthings, and my photo black and pigment...
I would love to, but I can't, I'm stationed in Saudi Arabia. hehehehehe.
So far, I'm pretty happy with the rubber plugs that alotofthings has provided me along with the bulk ink i've purchased. i've got about 50 of these.
my only concern is that i am afraid that the rubber plug would loosen over...
it's really a coin toss. the IP5000 is faster, have finer dots (1 picoliter), and is also excellent in text printing.
however, the IP6000D, while having bigger dots (2 picoliter) and slower, is designed more with photo printing in mind, it doesn't have the bci-3e bk ink for text printing...
I am using alotofthings inks and I am very satisfied with the results. I still have not experienced clogging, and yesterday I printed over a hundred colored documents without problems.
So I'm sticking with alotofthings, the colors are great, it doesn't clog my printer (yet), and it is very cheap.
Well, based on what I've read about the waste tank full message on this board and other sites, I could assume that this is a software counter issue. There is no real waste tank full detector in the printer itself. Or maybe I am wrong.
If I am right though, reformatting your PC will reset the...
