Hobbicolors provide 2" x 18G blunt needles with their refill kits. They may supply them individually.
You could ask them - I found them to be very helpful people.
This is an extract from the MP600 Manual:
"...When Printing on Plain Paper
You can use general copy paper or Canon's Super White Paper. When printing on both sides, we recommend Canon's Super White Paper Double-Sided.
Paper size:
- Standard sizes: A4, B5, A5, Letter, and Legal (Auto...
I've got Canon ip4000 and MP600 prrinters.
Both of these can be set up for custom size with minimum paper size 2.13"wide x 3.39"high. So you should be able to print your cards in landscape mode.
Just used up the first OEM cart on my MP600.
Lamp is slow flashing and the warning says the ink is low('!'). It has been for some time.
When I lift the cart to check the level, the tank side is absolutely empty.
Do I replace now or wait until I get 'final warning' showing 'X'?
Just to refine the last posting, the light beam used on Canon BCI-6 and similar cartridges, is an 'all or nothing' indicator. It only indicates whether there is ink above the sensor level - it does not estimate how much ink is left.
I've recently put inkmon5 on an MP600 and it seems to be working OK.
But it's early days yet and I don't know how it's affected by the 'Copy' function, which doesn't need the intervention of the PC.
Any ideas?
I recently bought an MP600 'refurbished' from Canon UK1 on ebay. It was in immaculate condition and had probably only been a demonstration model in a showroom. It had a full 12months manufacturer's warranty.
It was supplied with a new (packaged) printhead and 5 new sealed carts. Cost 52 - not...
Tin Ho, re-read my posting. I say again.
I have done what you ask, using genuine Canon PGI-5 black on plain paper, and I am holding in my hand the piece of paper with a smeared black block on it, and I believe my eyes!
I have tried to upload the image, both as a .jpg and a .gif and I cannot...
Tin Ho. In view of your posting, I thought I would recheck my test.
I did a nozzle test done using genuine Canon inks on plain paper and left overnight to dry. Next morning, it was run under a tap and surplus water allowed to drain off. The colours had run but the pigmented black had not...
I emailed Canon when ink from a PGI-5BK cart in my MP600 smeared. The reply I got was.
"Please be advised that the ink tanks used with your printer are not waterproof. "
It states somewhere in the manual or instructions that print quality will be lower in duplex mode in the MP600. I think they lay down less ink to reduce the drying time.
That said, I have just bought an MP600 and printing in fast mode (black - plain paper) is less dense on the MP600 than...
Lin, you mentioned in earlier postings of 'resetting' the chips. Did you actually use a chip resetter, or did you just refill and try to over-ride the warning notices?
If I rub the wetted vertical bar, it smears. But if I rub the graticle it doesn't.
I tried Hobbiclors and that is the same. It seems that if the ink has soaked into the paper, all is well. But if there is a surplus of ink on the surface as there may be with the vertical bar) then it will smear...
In electronic assemblies, plastic covered wires and components like small loudspeakers are often held in place with hot-glue. I find it makes a good bond between most things.
