I have tried the rubber band and the original cap over the exit port trick .
2 points:
1. Need to use the caps that came with the cartridge. Had some trouble trying to get the caps to seal when mixing oem caps with non oem cartridges and vice versa.
2. Also worth smoothing out the small...
Mark,
Thanks for sharing that neat trick with the screw and O ring- a very clever way to offer a good secure seal that is easily undone. If you were really obsessional you could tap a thread into the cartridge rather tha using a self tapping screw. The cartridges being plastic are easy to tap...
Had a look at the refill instructions for the alotofthings refill cartridges. The acrylic cases are neat to seal the exit port.
In the refill instructions they advise to fill the font air vent over the sponge compartment. Why is this done?
Isn't it best to allow the vent to allow air to...
The cheapest cartridges I have found in Australia e.g. BCI-3eBlk $7.00AUS "Databank" brand is at http://www.jpldisplays.com.au
Not a great range - I use the BCI -6 C/Y/M cartridges to replace my BCI-3 C/Y/M - have not worked out if ther is a real difference between the 3 & 6 series BCI C/Y/M...
I gather that many of the Epson CFS are now "spongeless" to try and overcome cartridge failure. Interestingly enough there doe seem to be some spongeless canon cartridges around - see colorbat,
The refill instructions look easy and they suggest that that it is not important for the plug to seal...
Always interesting to here where people source their accessories. Here in Australia there is not the range of suppliers.
I haven't had my Canon MP730 CFS long enough to know how long a sponge cartridge will last in a CFS. I have been told that it is much longer than when refilling as long as...
My understanding of the dynamics of filling these cartridges is once you open the cartridge with a hole - the vacum is gone and the ink will flow easily out of the exit port into the print head.
Would expect there to be a fair bit of leak out of the printhead whilst filling in situ. As long as...
Here are some pictures I took along the way when I was prototyping the single black feed CFS
http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~ocular/MP730
I'll get some photos of the sinopis system organised.
I am trying to find a service/parts manual for the Canon MP730.
Canon are very unhelpful and don't...
I would like to know what the difference is between the the BCI-3eC/Y/M and the BCI-6C/Y/M. The cartridges seem physically the same. Ink refillers seem to supply the same ink for both. Is there any difference?
For example. The i560 and the i850 have the same printhead Canon (part No...
An idea that I have had for sealing the BCI cartridges is to tap two right angle spigots (the ones that MIS and colorbay sell for their CFS) into the top of the cartridge over the non sponge reservoir. A glue can be used as the spigots are screwed in to make sure thaey are sealed and secure...
One of the limitations of refilling Canon cartridges seems to be that the sponge fails.
How long will the sponge cartridges last in a CFS? I have been told that they will last a lot longer because they are always full of ink. Is this true?
Those that have had a CFS for some time may be able to...
After experimenting with a home made black single feed CFS I have upgraded to a Sinopis system.
www.sinopis.com
I have this installed this on a multifunction machine canon MP730. This is the older 4 tank system. BCI-3eBK, BCI-3eC, BCI-3eM, BCI-3eY.
The MP730 has the same printhead as...
