Found this "spongeless" cartridge on Ebay here in Oz. Bought a few to trial. They come prefilled and are the cheapest I have seen here in Oz. But as well it has other features that make it potentially quite versatile.
Comes with its own clip in case to seal the exit port.
It seems to...
I have two sinopis CIS canon setups (MP730) - I started with their ink, but found the black insipid and changed to bulk ink from www.inkbank.com.au ( Canberra) - much cheaper and better black colour, The sinopis reservoirs are easy to refill and well designed
I believe bulk formulabs inks are...
The commercial CFS usually have the feed tube going into the sponge chamber as does my sinopis system. The normal air maze over the sponge compartment has to be blocked off so enough vacum is created for the CFS. In my home made black feed system I had the ink tube into the reservoir chamber and...
This doesn't compare with QImage or Adobe, but if you want something simple and intuitive for printing variable no. of images per page.

I made a similar contraption out of scrap and two bolts ( when I can find the camera in all this mess, I'll put up a photo) . I put some soft material along the upper crossbar to seal the air maze as well so I could use the pull push technique with the syringe (with no needle) directly in the...
The IP3000 is now difficult to obtain in Australia. I have found the series that take 1 black and 3 colours a very robust allround printer. I have 3 MP730 machines and 1 spare MP730 and 2 functioning IP3000. Before the IP3000 ran out I bought 4 more and they are still in their boxes. I bought...
Here are some tricks I use
1. After the initial filling of a spongeless cartridge let it sit over night - seems to be a need for equilibration.
2. Press on the release pin on the exit port and see that ink comes out slowly - if it doesn't may increase positive pressure into cartridge with...
Glad you have moved up in the printing world- you got that multifunction for a steal. I have the older MP730 machines (4 cartridge machine - same printhead as IP3000) and these machines are real work horses.
The scanning is truly twain compliant and the multipage feeder puts these machines in...
Need to be sure that it is the print head that is blocked. Wasn't sure from your post if you tried with another known to work 3blk in the printhead. Otherwise it could be a problem with the cartridge you had refilled. Sometimes the sponge at the exit port gets pushed up and then the ink will not...
Here is a great site to get 0-rings, screws (stainless self tapping & nylon 10-32) in Australia
http://www.minibearings.com.au/
has distributors in New Zealand and US
OK , Cutemaker has sent me pictures of the BCI spongeless cartridge, the CIS and Refillable are structurally different ,- not sure what the word " flake" means - but the lower round area seems to have radial segmental compartments in the CIS cartridge.
These are certainly different from the...
Panos,
Sorry , I wasn't precise with my question. Correct me if I am wrong. With your OEM cartridge you remove the ball from the hole and plug it with the soft plug with the right angle tag and then inject with a needle thru that plug.
Could you remove the plug and fit the syringe end directly...
Back on topic
Cutemaker have sent a crude image of their spongeless cartridge , apparently there is a difference between the CIS and refillable cartridge, something to do with the "round" areas.

Haven't worked out which one this is, but it is different from the picture...
Ingenious Panos, you have combined the plugs and the vacum filling technique from the spongeless cartridge to the the OEM sponge cartridge. All those hours wasted on the spongeless cartridges have not gone to waste!
Your technique probably needs a topic of its own , but I will ask here.
With...
Can't seem to establish if cutemaker's spongeless cartridges are the same as Jetyoung's. Physically they look the same in the pictures with the same labelling.
But this is the first time I have heard that spongeless CIS and spongeless refillables are different!
Panos if you are still in...
It is a BCI 3BK
see picture empty and full http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=115
the full weight is 46gms ( Panos has confirmed this at 47gms)
What are your weight measurements?
CanonPhreak
How do you get 29mls into those spongeless cartridges?
My weights are spongeless BCI 3BK empty 29.3gms - full 46.1gms = 16.8mls (with clip and plug insitu). The cartridge looks to have enough space to have perhaps another ml or two - but not 10+! From the Weink instructions they...
If you can concentrate your black text work onto a particular machine than a single black continuous feed inkjet into an IP3000 would be a economic option. You still have the ability to do colour work as required.
Yes that is the Jetyoung spongeless cartridge.
Interesting to look at their refill instructions. A normal sponged BCI 3e takes ~26mls and a spongeless takes ~ 13mls. This confirms my findings that the spongeless holds less ink. I am still using one spongeless black cartridge with no further issues.
I am still going with Spongeless cartridge setup. The Continuous inks system with the jetyoung cartridges in place has been flawless. I use a single black spongeless refillable with sponged colour cartridges in another system. I agree with Panos that the spongeless cartridge doesn't respond well...
