That is cheap - at the moment the BCI cartridges are $1.39 each, 12 x$1.39 = $16.68 +pp on www.airzoimaging.com
How many sets have you put thru your printer and has there been any problems?
But doesn't this still mean an empty cartridge will not be detected? is this too much to hope for. In the real world I am not the sort of person who can hope to self monitor ink levels without allowing the print head to run dry.
Am still observing before I jump into the Canon chipped cartridge...
WebSnail - He had a number of washers in an envelope. They were obviously crudely constructed with a pair of scissors or a sharp scalpel blade. I don't think accuracy of the inner hole is important as long as the rubber grommet is elevated. But if you could get hold of a leather punch of...
I have a Sinopis (chinese) CISinstalled on my MP730 and had the first unit installed by their technician. They obviously have come across this problem. He cut a small flat washer from a disposable glove and put it under the rubber seal to elevate it. However he only put it under the black and...
I have had no reply from alotofthings re the skyhorse spongeless cartridges and their liklihood of leaking.
I have a sample of these cartridges shipped direct from the manufacturers and I don't believe the problem of occasional leakage has been fixed up. I have directed the manufacturers to...
Have continued to trial these "spongeless " cartridges in IP3000 and MP730. Have had 3 further leaks - one in black, one in cyan, one yellow.
The ink leaks from the exit port of the cartridge and leaks into the wells of the other cartridges ( and makes a mess).
2 reasons would seem to make...
I have 3x MP730 (2 CIS, 1 refillable) and 3x IP3000 printers in action at the moment. All have the same print head. I don't do a lot of colour work as these are office machines. But I have had the partial blockage that has been described. Interestingly it was with Cyan. I swapped...
It is important that the self tapping screw is perpendicular so that the pan head seals the O ring against the flat cartridge face. The best success I have had is to to put the self tapping screw in the drill press chuck, so that the chuck holds the pan head and the point of the screw is down...
So is cutemaker prepared to replace the spongeless cartridges they sold me as refillable standalone cartridges seeing as they are "unstable" and don't work?
As fotofreek says it looks like the OEM "sponged" cartridge
Is this cartridge refillable in its current form?
Need to change the product...
I have tried some skyhorse spongeless from ebay here in Australia.
http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=842
As the thread says they are easy to refill, but
two of the color cartridges have leaked whilst in the printhead -
their dimensions seem poor.
I have ordered some more...
Grandad I just love your posts!
Great graphic manipulation. I have already an extra washer (from a disposable rubber glove) under the blk inlet. This was inserted by the installer of my Sinopis CIS that I have put aside while testing these spongeless cartridges from SkyHorse. The Skyhorse...
The picture compares the lengths of the failed cartridge to the OEM. There is a gap of sky between the end of the blue cartridge exit port and the base of the OEM cartridge. There is no gap between the end of the OEM cartridge port and the base of the blue SkyHorse. You don't need any calipers...
RC thanks for your comments. Sounds as though you have had more experience withtthese cartridges than I have. This was the first set I had used.I used the BCI 3eBLK, BCI 6Y, BCI 6C, BCI 6M in a MP730. The MP730 is listed to take BCI 3C/Y/M colors rather than the BCI 6C/Y/M but my understanding...
Looking at the design of this "spongeless" - it still operates like a sponged cartridge at the exit port- as the third picture in my series shows there is some sponge in the exit port. There is no valve in this design. True it doesn't leak in its resting state unless something is directly...
Disaster has struck. Put a set of new spongeless cartridges in my MP730.
Got a good nozzle check pattern. Printed a few pictures. left it over
night and went to print and got an empty cartridge warning for Cyan next
morning.
New cartridge was empty and had leaked thru printhead. I checked...
Here is the link to the refilling instructions from alotofthings. They sell the SkyHorse brand and the only difference I can see from my pictures above is that the SkyHorse has a pulltab over the air vent as opposed to the orange spike...
Thanks for following that up CP
Even selling them as part of a CFS weink let you build your own with minimal instructions rather than sell them in a complete kit.. Can't see how Jetyoung and Cutemaker are going to get very far with these cartridges.
Looks like these spongeless are no longer supplied by Weink
http://www.weink.com/ecom/catalog/easy-fill_bci-6_style_sponge_free_blank_4350372.htm
Presumably they had problems.
They are a pita if used as individual refillable tanks, As they take a lot of cleaning cycles to get the ink back...
These are very similar to alotofthings spongeless cartridges that are reselling Skyhorse cartridges from China
http://www.alotofthings.com/supportforrefillers/CanonCompatibleRefillableSpongelessInkCartridges.html
.
Has anyone used these?
The one with the pictures above is very similar to...
The seller on EBay.com.au has nothing up at the moment. I have emailed him to see what is available. I should imagine there are other suppliers around.
