Every program where is printing option can be specified to a monochrome printing.

The US part numbers for Brother DCP-115c are LC41 series. Not sure what type of ink goes to each color but generally dye based inks are more often used in black cartridges and pigment inks in color cartridges. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I used to have Epson Stylus C88 and have been using it for 3 years or so and have never had problems with the yellow. The majority of my prints were black only though.

As far as I know, each cartridge core has its lifespan... number of times you can refill them. May be yours just died :)

I had the same problem, solved it the same way, cleaned the rollers. That was just a temporary solution, since I had to clean them more often after and more often each cleaning.

I'd stick to dye ink. Not sure about Artisan 730, but there are printers which can be fooled to work with empty color ink cartridges.

That's good amount of pages... What is your main reason not considering a laser printers?

I'm not very sure if there is a i conflicts between orignal ink and compatible ink. I'd like to know if there could be any if they are mixed up, please guys, can you post a link regarding that matter?

Is the cyan ink cartridge new? May be its flawed. How many prints have you printed with that cartridge? You can changing the cartridge.

Epson Stylus T13 uses separate ink tanks. Have you tried running a cleaning cycle? Does it have cyan nuance when you print in grayscale mode?

I had a similar problem and since most warranty services replace your printer instead of fixing it - they said it'd cost less and there are hardly ever spare parts, I think you are out of luck. Still you can have a try with your warranty service. Good luck.

Most of the compatible or remanufactured inkjet cartridges on the market DO work/print even though the "out of ink" message is shown.

That's the first thing that came to my mind. But has anybody tried to burn an ink drop that's not on a paper of course :)

If you use it just time to time, you might get you cartridges clogged, make sure you prevent that.

Depends on what is the scan quality you need! I personally use a stand alone scanner and printer, so I can replace / repair only the one, when is needed!

I'd go for a monochrome laser printer. Lot's of cheap compatible/remanufactured toner cartridges out there

They wouldn't increase the old cartridges' prices... too much question to ask, so they've come up with a newer cartridges!
