As I learn more about color profiling and all that is required to match a monitor with a printer and the in's and outs of that whole thing I realized that as a simple hacker in printing I need to find something, software or whatever that might simplify the whole process because I find myself...
The Hat said he bought a new Canon PRO1 and tried a few prints but then said, "I just use Lidl cheap Sihl glossy photo paper, and I also use HP rolls, gloss and satin papers for A3 + prints."
Then talked about the Pro1 not being any better then some other printers?
Sorry but am I missing...
Fenrar wrote! "don't understand what they're buying (getting a Durabrite printer and then wonder why it clogs when they only use it once a month)".
I sure agree with that statement from Fenrar concerning Epson printers. We have had an Epson 1400 for going on three years with no head clogs at...
Update on the Epson 1400! I installed a damper/RBTF chip set from InkJetCarts and the Epson is it's old self again happly printing beautiful prints.
We will see if this is going to be for the long haul or not! The Epson bomb ya know!
My wife prints a lot and over almost 2 years we did maybe 1 head cleaning?
I find just printing something once a day or more is the best head cleaning policy!
Anyway I'm really upset to hear that printers have Logic Boards, I just got used to the idea that my Imac computer is smarter than me and...
Years ago I got a job for the summer when I was 16 and in school and they put me to work painting this huge "pot shaped tank that they mixed dish soap in! Part of my job was moving 55 gallon drums of chemicals around that eventually were added to that pot!
That job opened my eyes to how most of...
Forgot the cost breakdown....I did the math for my Epson 1400...If I buy six (240 mils) per ink bottle times the 6 colors my Epson uses I get (1440 mils total), I have to spend ( Including shipping) about $70.00,(not including shipping) That is about the same amount of inks you get in 20,(6...
Canon or Epson are good choices. Both shut you down after getting to a set number of prints but the number should be in the thousands and usually there us a way to reset and go again. Not sure but I think Canon is easier to reset.
As for cheap ink, there is no such thing unless you refill or...
Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I never claimed to be Mr. knowledge about printers anyway!
When it comes to printer absorber counter values how does any printer company set up a printer to do that?
I mean I understand the cartridge chip where electronic data is imbedded right in the...
Drames wrote (I'm a student working with a nonprofit Orphan Sponsorship Program at my university and we print a lot of stuff. There are a lot of 8.5x11 full colour documents to print out, and I was wondering how much my ink costs would be.) Drames, look into this....
CIS System the only way to...
Olga wrote ( I saw an ingenious system in use in Ukraine - they had half liter ink/pigment in cans on a shelf above their printer, with little plastic tubes routed down to the print head)
I don't know how that was set up Olga, but all cis people warn you to keep the ink bottles on the same level...
I'm also new to Canon and am thinking about switching from Epson printers to Canon. Since my wife is a retired artist,(Oil paintings, watercolor, etc) I want eventually to get her a printer capable of Gallery quality prints and was impressed by the reviews about the new Canon PRO1. I was told...
Just had a brain storm. If Epson can build in a time bomb into their printers, could not a smart computer geek come up with a replacement mother board or whatever board printers use to do the "counting"? I'd be happy to be able to send a printer out to have that done for a fair price. As for the...
I have both the Artisian 725 and the Epson Stylus 1400 and use Claria type inks in both. They both produce good prints and in fact seem to have the same printer heads but I'm not positive about it. One suggestion I might make is to think about getting Epson Factory Refurbished printers when...
I'm happy I could give you some useful information. I do always want to be as accurate as I can and appreciate it very much when others do the same.
There are so many really knowledgeable printer people in here that know so much more about the subject than I do that I feel privileged indeed to...

To answer your question I not only ran the print under the water but I took a piece of paper towel and lightly scrubbed the print and then let it air dry and saw no visible sign of streaking. The print looked as it did coming out of the printer. That was Claria (Type) ink from inkjetcarts...
Claria (Type) inks are all I use and I really like the results I get with Kirkland ( Costco) papers,Glossy paper!
It still blows my mind that I can print with a dye based ink and then hold the print under a running water facet with no runs at all!
I've tried several ink sources and settled on...
