Pixma 4500 AC power adapter module

My electronics buddy tells me that it would work if the voltage and amperage matched. Unfortunately, it doesn't. He said that the higher amperage ones will tend to be more expensive, and that looks to be true.

    1860 pigment black not printing

No, they didn't help. I mostly got a tool bar I didn't want and nothing else. I did buy a manual, somewhere else, for $3.00 that was pretty much a total waste of money. I couldn't find anything that dealt with this problem.

    1860 pigment black not printing

I have the printer opened but I don't know where to go from here. I can't see how to lift out the guts. It feels as if everything is tightly bound and looks like screws here and there. Help!?

Pixma 4500 AC power adapter module

Now there's a thought. Lots better than shelling out $70.

Pixma 4500 AC power adapter module

Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit in the slot. Wrong shape.

Just as you predicted, the color pad is fine, the other one is swimming.

Pixma 4500 AC power adapter module

Thanks for your response. I've tried searches for that number and also the module number apart from that number. So far no luck. Some list as sold out, I hope that means that some might appear someday.

    1860 pigment black not printing

I just did the testing as you suggested. I think it must be clogged as nothing drained away. On either pad. Now what? Am I able to do what it needs?

    Should read i 860, not 1 860. Stupid fingers!

    1860 pigment black not printing

The pigment black won't print. I thought maybe something was wrong in the electronics because I was pretty sure it wasn't clogged enough to not print at all. I put in a new Canon cart - I have been using refill canons with Precision Inks - in hopes that might start it up, but nothing. I did...

Pixma 4500 AC power adapter module

My 4500 stopped running. A friend checked it for me and said that the adapter module circuit board had a fault somewhere in it. I think I need the entire module but the only place I can find it is on ebay for $70. I might pay that if I have to but I would sure like to find it cheaper. Anyone...

    ip4500 pale printing

I just did a cleaning of the parking station as recommended by inkjetprinthead.com and it seems to have solved the problem. Yay!

dhwells, I don't see any green color around the yellow cart.

    ip4500 pale printing

Bad news for me, but I bought this printer specifically for its carts so I'm not giving up now. Just a quick look around the net shows me a new printhead for $79, or a refurb one for $41. Any thoughts on which would be the better choice? Both are from inkjetprinthead.com.

    ip4500 pale printing

As far as I can tell, they look like unrefilled Canon carts. They came with the printer. The cyan cart is almost full, the others less in them. The colors look as I expect the ink to look. The printer worked fine when I got it. A nozzle check came with the printer (ordered on-line) and it...

    ip4500 pale printing

The cyan looks about right but the magenta is too blue and the yellow has a tinge of blue. Hmmm. Sounds like the cyan is not keeping its place.

    ip4500 pale printing

I recently purchased a used Canon ip4500. It has started printing very pale. The carts appear to still have ink and I don't get a low ink notification. The ink is Canon. I'm not familiar enough with this printer to know what the problem might be. Nozzle check attached.

    Refill

I didn't know that there is more than one method. I can't imagine it being much easier. Once I got over my discomfort of doing something about which I knew nothing. I made sure the bottom was sealed, removed the little plastic ball with an eye screw inserted in it, squirted in ink with a...
