What makes paper "fine art paper"?

rodbam: It seems like the paper names are more akin to the paper thickness/weight. The Kirkland, HP PP, and The Ilford are about the same mass/weight and it seems like the proper setting for all three is the Paper Pro/Plus. Does that sound right to you?

Memjet getting closer to market...this will change everything.

This is almost starting to sound like Duke Nukem Forever. I agree with everyone else. I'll be believe it when it's on the market. Until then, it's just marketing buzz.

Print Settings? Kirkland Photo Paper on Canon i9900 w/ G&G Ink

I would actually start first with ditching the G&G ink.

Brother MFC-8840D: ink bleeding all over the edge, please help!

Did you do the little shake-n-bake routine AFTER you yanked out the toner strips and BEFORE you put it in? TonerGuy is right though, you may need a new drum, those are considered a consumable in most laser printers. Never ever ever put any sort of liquid in a laser printer thinking it'll clean...

What makes paper "fine art paper"?

I'm sure plenty of manufacturers would say 'the price". I think there are some other considerations like whether the ink used is considered "archival" grade and is marketed as such. Fine art would not be fine art if the color faded. Also I thought I remember that matte was preferred by many...

    Cli 8 Saturated sponge

Not when you have dried flushed cartridges, and you over zealously try to get the sponge saturated thinking that's necessary and leave the tape off. Not only did I do that, I left the clip off for a good part of it. I sucked out quite a bit of ink from the sponge at the port to the point there...

New Canon Printers in the Offing? Adorama Deals

I heard Canon overdid it with lens manufacturing and recovered too fast. I wouldn't be surprised if that resulted in excess stock of products. Btw, when they tell you to "cut a whole in the box" for the UPC, literally cut out the hole. Don't try to peel off the UPC leaving some of the...

Fridge method for refilling BCIs and CLIs

I'll post my "oven refill" method soon. Step 1: Pre-heat to 450F degrees. ... :D

    Cli 8 Saturated sponge

I totally did this with the magenta refill on a purge. It was so over saturated, that you could very easily get ink into the serpentine vent channels if you tilted it so the clip was up, even momentarily. More than 5 seconds, and if you were wearing gloves, you'd get ink on your hands from the...

    Cost for Photos on iP4500

I'm trying to figure out the print page count one can get with a set of cartridges. I own a Canon PIXMA iP4500. Text pages are about 3 cents, and full color page is 4 cents. However I know for a fact that photographs on like the Canon Photo Paper Plus II 69lbs paper will consume much more...
