There is nothing missing on the free Fusion that I need. Limited to 10 editable projects at any one time but that is more than enough for me. Once finished you can set a project as read only and free up your quota.
If you have ever tried Freecad and hated the user interface then this might be for you....

Freecad with a completely different and more intuitive user interface
NOTE - ITS not FREE if you want the full features!
This video shows how to resume a print after a clog or other print failure. Worth saving the link for that inevitable day when your print fails after hours of printing!
The thing I like about it is that the kit is totally complete, even down to precut lengths of cable etc. Having built a Voron with all self sourced parts becaue there were no kits at that time I would definitely buy a full kit if I was getting another printer.
It's about the same price as a...
This new machine from Ratrig has some pretty innovative features. If I was in the market for a new printer I'd buy the full kit in preference to a Bambu or a Voron. Hybrid mode and idex can also be added later without any major alterations of the machine.
Congrats on your new machine, I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it. With regards to bed adhesion if you are using a PEI plate then I struggled at first with adhesion on my Voron but found out it was down to proper cleaning of the plate. Everyone says use IPA but that is not the whole...
All carts that I have ever seen have vents, otherwise the ink would not flow due to fluctuations in pressure.
Not heard of that brand, however most Maxify users that have refilled have eventually noticed issues with some colours, Yellow or Cyan being the most regular culprits.
My 5150 was a...
No sure what they use for lubrication on the rods, however the Bambu printers are the most unfriendly machines to do maintenance on. Take the carriage with the toolhead as an example. If a bearing goes bad on it there is no way to replace a bearing. You have to buy a complete carriage at...
Been a while since this thread was active but I thought it might be useful to document my foray into laser printers.
I recently bought the Brother MFC-L8690-CDW printer. I spent most of a week researching the various brands, aftermarket carts, which ones had chips etc. I alwys returned to the...
A write up on how to test and adjust the settings (not for the faint hearted)

Orca Slicer seems (no pun intended) to be forging ahead with lots of new developments compared to other slicers currently. They will of course turn up in Prusa...
The Bambu X1C works out of the box but is a nightmare to service even some of the simplest parts.
If a bearing goes faulty on the gantry then its throwaway and buy a new $100+ gantry as there is no way to remove the bearing. Currently there is a problem on some machines where a bed cable gets...
Melted plastic no matter what type is not good if inhaled. The smallest particles (VOC's) can't be seen, they are pretty much the same size as gas particles. No one yet knows what the long term effect will be, in the same way long term Vaping effects are also as yet unknown, but it makes sense...
There is what I call an "apprenticeship" or rite of passage when first starting 3D printing. The first test in the apprenticeship is a frustrating one and that is bed adhesion/first layer issues. It's the number one source of frustration for newbies. Experience through observing the first...
Lucky, as some of them don't care about the environment. HP are still crippling laser printers so they won't take 3rd party toner carts. One OTA update knocked out many printers recently. I think it will take a Class action to stop them doing it.
