It's been a while, but I wanted to give a final post to let people know the end of this story. But first, I want to thank everyone that posted advice to help me. I learned a lot in the process of trying to find a solution.
In the end, I concluded that the heater in the cyan channel was burnt...

If there is little or no ink flow, is this procedure safe to do over and over? Or is it possible that it could cause the heaters to burn out?
As I understand it, if you continue to print when your print head is starved for ink due to poor ink flow from the cartridge, this can lead to ink...
Did you see the instructions at this link by Digitalartist71. He tells how to dismantle the IP3000 to access the purging lines. He then injected hot water into the purging lines to dissolve the dried ink, and this fixed his problem. He gives a lot of details in his post.
Good luck,

OEM carts have a nice fill hole already so it makes sense to me to use it, rather than drilling another hole. I think it is best to remove the ball in the fill hole, rather than push it in, then if you choose to use a screw (now or later), the extra plastic around the sides of the fill hole will...
Interesting e-mail response from www.alotofthings.com; they sell four different printer cleaning solutions which might be www.formulabs.com Sensient Revive Cartridge Tonics (there are four of them).

hpnetserver, as you say, it would be best if my "Purge Hose" (see post #52 this link) had a filter, so today I added a simple filter made out of a nylon stocking. It's low tech, but I think it will do the job, certainly it is better than nothing; it is easy to make and costs nothing. Perhaps I...
