To refill a BCi-24......
1. Pop the cap off (a strong blade under the edge and a twist will pop it off) {For the black I just drill a small hole in the existing air hole}
2. Fold 2 pices of kitchen towel up into a square about 2"x2"
3. Hold the cartridge upright on the tissue holding it down...
It seems the i9100 is the uprgaded model.
Interestingly I thought that the printheads between the S9000 and the I9100 were interchangeable. Although acording to these reviews the resolution of the i9100 is 4800x1200 & the S9000 is 2400x1200
Grandad, the I9900 is an awsome printer, I used to...
I've just bought an S9000 on eBay, it's got head problems but as long as they arent electrical I'm fairly sure I should be able to sort it.
I was just wondering who else on here has one of these, and if there is anything particularly good/bad about this model. My main reason for buying it was...
It's probably best if you look around the forum, there are plenty of people who have had similar problems - It's also worth using the search feature before you post as this can often get you the answers quicker that waiting for people to reply to your post - often people dont want to repeat...
The shape you are describing usually means the cart is TOO full, and is leaking slightly.
Usually the head shoots the ink out of the jet and onto the page, when there is too much ink the ink "wells" on the surface of the head. The droplet of ink is thicker in the middle so no ink makes it to...
I'm in the market for an A2/A3 but will be buying one off ebay because I cant justify spending 500 on a new printer..... I would love a Canon, but there arent that many for sale, and the ones that are, are really expensive. This makes me think that Canon are the best for large format printing...
I think as others have suggested its down to your brand/type of card your using.
There is a "prevent print head abrasion" setting if you find the head is smudging on very thick card by the way, I need to use this if I print on certain 300gsm but am fine on 270gsm
Are you certain nothing has fallen down the back into the feeder?? You wouldnt believe how many customers being their printer in saying it wont feed, even after speaking to them on the phone and they say its clear.
If it is possible somethings gone down the back (pen lid etc) then tip the...
The price of used canons is always much higher than an HP or the like, due to their running costs. Be carefull with the Epson cart's they too are chipped, but more than likely the chips can be reset, alternatively you can get autoresetting chips.
Canon have been making good chipless printers...
I agree with Grandad - be carefull when shopping for your replacement printer. Stick with Canon, I'm shopping for an A3 but I only want one that takes the bci6/3's rather than the newer chipped carts.
I'm a great believer in eBay, have a look, see if there is an ip4000/5000 they are good...
yuyakay, the letters on the left are made by mixing cmy together to make "black" hence why your not seeing black, rather just yellow and magenta mixed = red.
I believe the ip3000 printhead has 6 rows of nozels, two for each colour that are offset with each other, hence enabling bi-pass printing...
Weigh a cartridge known to be empty - as long as u have accurate scales ink weighs about 1 gram per ml so if you know its 3 grams over empty weight u know to stick 5 or 6 ml in it.
Continuing to print when an ink cartridge is empty will damage the print head, posibly beyond repair. Even if you're not printing in that colour the heat build up from the rest of the nozzels is enough to dry and solidify any remaining ink.
But as ghwellsjr has said the photopaper setting will...
Hi Richard,
I know you've said your nozzel check was OK, but are you SURE?
There should be TWO blacks on the print out, the fatter black produces the Grid pattern, the small black should produce a grey bar similar to that of the colours. It should be the last one printed - 3eBK, 6C, 6C, 6M...
