Tried the profile, no dice. Very yellow results. :( Thanks anyways though!
I suspect my 5000 and your 9900 have very different dither algorithm due to the additional 2 photo inks.
Overall, I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed in the Formulabs inks. Can't say whether Formulabs is...
I've been testing Arrow carts, and getting odd color shifts. I just got word from Alotofthings that the ink in the Arrow carts is not guarenteed to be any particular maker, as it's not always known what ink the cart manufacturer is buying..
BTW: the new Fuji glossy photo paper is similarly awful, plastic and beading ink. Absolutly impossible to get it to absord. Terrible.
OTOH, it might be good for Epson pigment printers....?
I don't think G&G is sold bulk for refillers.
Also, some people have reported that G&G causes clogs eventually in Canons, although I have no personal experience with that. I do know my Epson 2000 print head went bad after using G&G ink, but it could have been coincidence.
I'm waiting for...
Inkgrabber sounds good and I almost bought it, but it's had some quality control issues and is most likly a Chinese relabeled generic ink IMO.
That probably means it's fade resistance is lower than the others I mentioned. It's black is supposed to be less dense, and it's yellow too strong which...
JV,
thanks for the info on the ink quantity, but how about some qualitative info on the color? Got any prints you can scan to show skin tones and such?
Also, you mentioned that someone said all the Canon inks are from 3 Chinese makers... I think many are, and probably most of the relabeled...

Thanks for the resopnse. Yes, please post more Formulabs tests on your ip5000 when you can, and we'll compare notes. :) Thanks also for the reccomendation on the accujet carts, I'll try them when I need new empties.
What do you mean setting print type to "none" will be "muddy" ?
BTW...
Congrats. It's supposed to be awesome. After some research on color accuracy and fading I ordered Forulabs inks from alotofthings.com. Can't really endorse it yet since it's not arrived yet...
However, I can say that from what I read it sounds best, a ggod place to start testing inks.
Find my...
I'll have to check out the color accuracy becasue I want them to be near perfect. Some people have posted shots with 3rd party inks (from various makers) that look awful, very blue or green.
I ruled out MIS ink for several reasons:
relativly poor longevity according to a forum test. MIS inks may clog IP500 is 1pl heads. Otherwise Neil Slader rates MIS well.
There is a lot of great info here and elsewhere to find the best ink/paper replacements for a Canon IP5000!
Various inks were tested for fading and the results posted in another forum. Results indicate Inktec and Formulabs are the most fade resistant, and also have high density blacks. On...
