They can be right as to the ink in the canon cartridges you have. Canon uses dye ink and pigment ink in their printers and hence you need to look for based on the cartridge numbers compatible for your printer. The link in Canon site...
It is preferable to refill with the right kind of ink (pigment with Pigment and Dye with Dye). Having said that I searched this topic earlier and my understanding is that you cannot mix pigment and Dye ink and you cannot use pigment in place of Dye ink (tend to clog). Hence using Dye instead of...
Well finally I refilled the black 810 cartridge. Pulling ink into syringe was harder than I thought. Hence stopped with 4 to 5 ml of black ink (cartridge didn't overflow). Tried but couldn't suck any ink from the bottom of the cartridge. anyway put it back in the printer, did a cleaning and a...
Ron,
I think you are assuming that the bottle will hold exactly 2oz which may not be correct. You can either measure the ink from one of the bottles or if you have a similar old ink bottle, you can pour 2oz water to see how much it holds.
I have canon MP258 which used pigment black cartridge (PG-810) and color cartridge (CL-811 - Tri color). Right now the black shows as very little ink in the status monitor (Color shows as sufficient still, about 1/3 full).
Right now I am still able to print black printouts on paper. Should I...
I am sorry my question may sound dumb but I am learning. What did panos infer from the HP 96 cartridge picture to change his suggestion. I can only see that HP96 has print head on the cartridge. Does that make a difference if you can clean all the ink inside the cartridge or not? Even cartridges...
An associate from canon authorized service center came home today to check the printer. I was at work. He called me and told me that the cartridge was clogged and he has done a cleaning cycle. He asked me to check in couple of days and if it still gives problem, he will replace the cartridge.
If the cartridge is out of ink, the third and fourth page should not come out good. Hence I think it is a flow problem (second page is much much better than first and third page seems good). It seems like the printer is doing something before printing the first page (Priming or whatever). As for...
I am in India. Here the store may not replace it after the purchase. But I will call Canon support since I have one year warranty and the printer is just 5 weeks old to show such problems. Thanks.
I bought this Canon Printer MP 258 about 5 weeks back and I am still on the Original PG-810 (Pigment Black) and CL-811 (Tri-color cartridge). I may have printed about 30 pages or in Black and about 10 pages or so in Color so far (at regular intervals). I have only printed on A4 paper (No Photos...
Thank you stratman, panos. When I purchased the printer few weeks back, I wanted to use CISS. I found sales ads in Philippine and malaysia sites where they sell new Canon MP258 printer with CISS installed and maybe w/ vendor warranty!! When I was going through this site, I noticed several posts...
Thank you. I guess when I start refilling the orig cart with after market inks, I should probably do nozzle check (like once a week) to keep ink flowing. Getting the right aftermarket ink can be tricky but I will check whatever is best available locally. I do keep the printer switched off when...
I am a newbie to inkjet printer and I bought Canon printer (MP258) about two weeks back and am still on the original carts.
I have printed only thrice and about 10/12 pages total. I notice many posts where it is mentioned about performing nozzle check, cleaning, deep cleaning cycles.
so far, I...
I am in India and here I can find inktone brand refill ink (imported from US). Has anyone used this and if so any feedback on their ink? Their URL is http://orderinktone.com/Home.html.
Thank in advance.
Thank you Tudor. I will not go for CISS as it is not worth it. I have already bought the MP258 printer and hence can't go for individual carts now. Too bad I didn't know about this site before buying the printer. I was also looking at Epson TX110/TX121 (both had individual carts for each color)...
Will this German method work for Canon cartridges PG 810 and CL 811? PG 810 is pigment black and CL 811 is tri-color cartridge. Both are opaque (can't see the ink) and comes with Canon printer MP 258. I wanted to check to know how to refill these carts. Also does anyone have experience in using...
