Certainly not - there are separate nozzles in the printhead for each color. If the picture of your nozzle check is correct, it appears that the Magenta ink is contaminating the Black somehow - either because of a bad seal with the Maganta cartridge or within the printhead. Steve W.

I use Costco Kirkland Glossy paper, Image Specialist dye based ink (Canon ip4500, ip4200) and profile using Profile Prism, and have gotten good profiles with resultant very good and accurate color prints. The prints match well with my Eye1 Display2 calibrated Dell 2209WA monitor. Steve W.
