Until now the error didn't appear again (but I left the printer on - against my principles ;) ).
I was able to finish my annual calendars (8x12 A4) plus some A3 prints.
While cleaning the plate I got the 4100 error (non genuine carts) normally linked to the Creative Parks app (I didn't run)...
Agree about CO.
I still have 150-200ml stock of Precision Colors SE (IMO almost same as OEM even when Jose Rodriguez disagrees strange enough on this one ;)) but when empty I will buy an OEM PRO-1000 cart too.
As far as an RGB jpg can show, the test prints all look OK.
I wonder why you started with matte paper, the gamut is much lower.
IMO luster paper will reduce the difference between dye and pigment inks at the maximum (diminishing the reflections of dye on glossy and the eventual gloss differences...
I hope I can fix it this way, now that even you can't dismantle the printer ;)
As long as it works I won't touch anything.
As I understand it is a light source with a sensor, not a mechanical switch ?
@Artur5 , there were times my cyan nozzles were as bad as yours.
I used ink from an expired 701C cart for a while and it enhanced.
Since GI-56 is available I use this, obviously it is better.
I observed it once last year, but it came back.
Obviously there is no paper - or piece of - left in the printer.
The Canon suggestions (open the rear paper feed) didn't solve anything.
Actually it goes away after shutting down the printer one or two times.
I already aspired the innards, and...
I printed today a manual of 457 pages (double side, the page counter on the nozzle check counts 230 sheets).
Mostly text, with some pictures an text in colour.
Also refilled the cyan, had to do 2 cleaning cycles afterwards (as most of the time).
Actual nozzle check with 600 dpi (sorry seems this...
Congrats with the first refill.
You always can center the printhead (carousel in your words) by closing/opening the lid, so no need to switch off the printer.
Most Canon printers warn against shutting off without a parked printhead since it is not protected against ink draining and dry out...
I think we must take into account that refilling diminishes the life of the printer.
Only when compensated by the cheaper ink this is a winning strategy.
I had to abandon (the printhead of) my first Maxify when the ink pads were 48% full, but despite all experiments it was paid back.
With my...
I was just taking my roll off the same great paper (I was happy enough to have found second hand years ago) to print a family reunion photo for my sister in law with the maximum size of the PRO-10 (355x676mm).
Good idea, I will send it rolled in the opposite direction.
Besides it is an unnecessary standby electric consumption, I suppose it adds to the wear of the power supply (although when switched off the capacitors probably also are under charge).
BTW pulling the plug is the only way to remove a cartridge before the printer declares it empty.
Except for a...
Since for service mode the printer must be the only USB device on your PC, watch the printer in the device list.
When it goes in service mode correctly, I observed the printer disappears from the USB list.
