No worries. It was written with a big smiley. Is there a bigger one somewhere that I can use? ;) This one is posted with a winkey.

No fair! Those are real pictures! I think we've discussed those demented judges before. :) EDIT Jan 9: Oh, too bad. Those pictures just went poof! They were great pictures, even if against the rules.

Any interest in a simple Photo thread?

I can't remember if I commented before, but I have a surprising reaction when I look at this picture now. It's too perfect. The one remaining shrub is a little disturbing, and the absence of the others is even more disturbing. It's just too perfect, as if nature is too barren and abstract and...

Settlement in Canon Class Action Lawsuit

Well, it's one thing if the printer is broken, but it's quite another to require them to pay people whose printer works fine. I think we need penalties for lawyers who pull that kind of stunt, and they should fire judges who agree to it. That is, assuming I understand the settlement correctly.

Settlement in Canon Class Action Lawsuit

Right. If you include the massive amounts of free paper, I paid probably $50 for the printer, and now they have to pay me $50 or $75 credit, and I get to keep the printer. I'm perfectly willing to take advantage of Canon if they enter into it voluntarily, but this is kind of unfair...

    Calendar for the Year 2016

OK, here's one. This is a bit cropped, so I wouldn't print it too large. Maybe not enough for a calendar.

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information and Submissions

OK, guys, you need to get it together. I didn't do that by sitting at home on the couch. I actually had to get up out of the chair and walk over to the window. :)

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information and Submissions

Is the picture of the week supposed to be taken the same week? If not, well, here is a recent picture of a little birdy I'm fond of. This little goldfinch is moulting. Click on these to see the full-sized image.

Third Party CLI-251 and PGI-250 Pigment back vendor sought

Of course. Clear enough, but reading and replying at the speed of the Interwebs I missed it. :) I was a little puzzled by the question.

    British Wildlife Photography Awards 2015

I think some of them are genuinely excellent and well made. I like contrasty photos generally, although some of them fall into the category of high contrast just because we can, and not because it improves the picture. HDR is great if it quietly serves a purpose without drawing attention to...
