After reviewing my tests, I think his result is real, although I am surprised the light was that bright in his kitchen. On printer paper, a few days in the sun will do that to all the third-party dye blacks I have tested. Photo paper is somewhat better, but not immune to fading.
That color in the Pro-100 print is typical of either a sepia-toned print or fading of dye black. Neither would surprise me. Mark McCormick thinks it could be "ink migration". I usually trust his opinion on matters of fading, but in this case I think he made a mistake.
When I first started refilling, I bought and tested different brands of ink and compared them to OEM on five different media (printer paper, 2 OEM photo papers, and two CDs). in three different locations. It took some time, but it didn't cost a lot because I eventually used most of the ink...
A question, guys. What's wrong with Windows 10 (besides the involuntary update)? And what's right with it? Briefly, please. I don't want to put you all to a lot of trouble (or me either ;) ).
The reason? I've got all these cameras and I can't run any of the software for them. So I'm...
He's not the only one at fault. The judges are enablers, and I have to regard them as either incompetent, corrupt, negligent, or pathologically subservient. The fact that judge after judge recuses himself is also a suggestion of extreme laziness. They should not have needed the direction of a...
They could put the refillers out of business tomorrow if they would price ink reasonably. They're not going to do that. In the US, by law, they have to allow refilling.
Would you all like to see the original, straight from the camera? This is not another entry. It's just a hint for people who might be shy about submitting a photo. It's also a way of bumping the thread. ;)
The background was already dark, but I just spent a few minutes more on dodging to...
I wish I had had a macro lens at the time. I really lusted for a bellows and focusing rail, but that all costs hard-earned $$. And yes it would have been a thumbnail.
It's from an orchid show. I guess that's kind of cheating. :) I have only rarely seen wild orchids here in the American Midwest. Most are unspectacular, but one of the most gorgeous ones I've ever seen was here. Unfortunately, it was about the size of my little finger nail.
