Further to my thread regarding the old software for my "new" Epson Pro 3800, I herewith show you an instruction that came with the 3880 and which is totally unclear.
Is this the way Epson services its clients?
See attachment!

I just received my new Epson 3880.
After unpacking I find a CD for installing software on my iMac which runs on OS X 10.9.5.
The CD is identified as being for "Mac OS X Lion"!
Most files on this CD are dated October 2011 approx. 4 years old!
When asking in this thread for your advise...
As we know the software on the CD that comes with the printer is often not up-to-date.
This is the reason why I asked Epson Europe for the most recent software for installing the Pro 3880.
I then received their advise to use the software listed in...
I expect a new Epson Pro 3880 soon and want then to make sure to install relevant software only. Certainly no software I have no use for.
I have selected Pro 3880 software as listed hereunder and I would very much appreciate to read your advise regarding this software I plan to install on my...
Farbenwerk in Dorsten Germany (www.farbenwerk.com) supplies Lyson AQ 800 bulk inks for the Epson Pro 3880 and Lyson V3 for Epson Pro 3800.
Specialist Inks UK (www.specialistinks.com) also sells Lyson AQ 880, but also Lyson R88, both for the 3880, I think.
Marrutt UK (www.marrutt.com) sells...
In Europe we can buy for the Epson Pro 3880 the following lyson inks:
- R88
- AQ 880.
Does anybody know whether there is difference between these inks?
I just sold my 6 year old 3800 with the intention to replace it with the Epson Pro 3880. Then the replacement of the 3880 was announched .
Forgetting the price differences what would be a wise decision?
The purchase of the 3880 or the P800?
Hello MartinOreg,
You were right that the productcodes for the ink carts for the new P800 can't be the same as those for the Pro 3880:
They are different, the first two digits have been switched around, from e.g. T5808 MK for the Pro 3880 into T8508 MK for the P800.
Sorry for making this...
@berttheghost,
I very much appreciate what you are writing and I will give it a try in the way you suggest.
I just wonder whether the driver (9.33) will indeed also bring the LFP function?
I have this most recent driver and it doesn't include LFP.

I continue to have in the nozzle check (see attachment) a slight break in the magenta pattern top line and now one in the 5th line.
This seems to be a well known problem with the Pro 3800?
As far as I can see there are no consequences visible in the color prints produced.
They look fine.
I don't...
Good morning:
As goes from the description of the LFP download, I mentioned earlier, it clearly is for the 3800 and it is described in the title as "Remote Panel2 utility"
Epson is not really well organized in the field of customer service (whereby it takes ages to receive an answer to a...
Hello @berttheghost
It would be rather primitive if I would ask for help without first trying to solve a problem.
I first tried to find the LFP software and that is not easy. There is a lot of rather confusing LFP software.
To keep a long story short I finally found:
"Epson Remote Panel 2...
I looked up with search "Epson 3800 LFP remote Panel", but there is nothing about that subject in this forum.
I have my 3800 already since 2009, but never managed to undo the greyed out LFP in the Utility.
I tried again but to no avail.
Can anybody tell me why the LFP is greyed out and how to...
Thanks for your patience with me and for your suggestions.
I translate "going back to basis ("3 dogs") in to: un- and re-installing the Epson software.
Before doing so I would like to make sure I do this in a proper fashion.
I have an iMac with OSX 10.9.5
I plan the following:
1. Click on the...

My e-mail: ?
Hello Andrew,
When reading your advise, for which I thank you, I may have given the impression that I am wrestling with clogging problems with my 3800?
But that is not the case.
When you read what I am writing I explained that I had cloggs and what I did to find a solution outside the cleaning...

Hello Joe,
I just finished successfully the modification of a set of 9 OEM Epson carts for 3800 to enable the refilling of these carts..
I first tried your most recent technique whereby the valve no longer is taken apart.
This methode seems very simple indeed, but I didn't feel...
When I print a nozzle check, the print I get is very vague and it is difficult to see the nozzle (see attachment) checks. Is there a way of printing more solidly and clearer these checks?
