If you have the #28 and #29 return program cartridges, they are not refillable, you need to purchase new ones #28a and #29a. Make sure the new ones are the "A" series, these are refillable.
Isn't funny how he/she avoids that question?.....It's been asked about 4 times now in 2 different threads, and he/she still hasn't answered the question.
Lin, what model is your Canon printer?

First off, Dell printers are one of the worst to buy, they are actually Lexmark Printers, lowest on the totem pole. Second usually when a cartridge burns out it just stops working properly, that is MOST of the time. Other times RARELY it will create other problems. So having said that, I would...
First of all, use the proper ink to refill LC-51 cartridges, only use high quality ink. If you don't, say good bye to your printer. There are to many people on here using HP ink to fill Brother cartridges, or left over Canon ink to fill Brother cartridges, this is wrong. If you are going to...
Yes, I have had problems with Skyhorse BCI-3 cartridges in the past, the same problems as you describe. I found that sometimes a film develops on the felt where the ink exit is, on the cartridge. If you gently scape the felt, to remove this film (dried ink) then install in the printer, do a head...
Also, I found this in another forum, maybe give it a try, this fella had the same problem as you, has the same printer, and used the auto- reset chips.
The auto-reset chips on these particular cartridges claim to work like
brand new HP ones by going from full to empty on the meter as you use...

The links above are for auto reset cartridges, and compatibles, both companies are very reliable, and sell high quality products which are fully guaranteed. I...
This printer was released June 22 2007, if those auto reset cartridges were manufactured before this, then they will not work because HP updated their firmware after that date as well. What area of the globe do you reside, I will try and recommend a reputable company that can help.
Did you by any chance download and install the printer driver from HP website recently? If you didn't good! Don't.
When did you purchase the printer? Did you use the driver from the CD included with the printer? And, when did you purchase the Auto reset cartridges for it?
The reason I am...
The on button and resume button flash alternately 19 times, which is the Ink tank position sensor [6502]error, which usually means the platen unit or logic board is faulty, and needs replacing.
Well it has nothing to do with the printer operation. And everything to do with the cartridge itself. Could be low quality ink, could be over filled. Maybe give your refilling procedure for starters, and the type of ink you are using?
Yes, same thing, these chips have not been reset, so no ink level and no lights, but you will be able to print. The chip needs to be there to be able to print, but if it is not reset, you loose ink level indication, and on some models the lights will not come on as well.
If you are using compatible CLI/PGI without the chip reset you will not get ink level indication, or lights. You will have the same with refills as well, unless the chip is reset. Currently there are resetters available, but they are in the $500.00-$850.00 price range. You can purchase...
This in my opinion would be the best way to go, with less hassle, and great results........get the Canon.
The chip on these cartridges has just been cracked finally, and you will probably see the cloned chips on the market starting in March 2008. I believe Germany will be the first to have...
You don't drill holes in these cartridges, they fill the same as BCI-21/24
Here are the instructions....

You can not take a chip off the CLI-8 or PG-5 and place it on the BCI-3 or BCi-6. This is not possible because the cartridge casings are not made the same. Where the chip is supposed to be put on the CLI-8, it is flat, and recessed, specifically for the chip. On the BCI3/6 it is not, you can not...
