The hole is left open for the ease of refilling, and that is it. There is no reason to cover it up, as it doesn't hinder the operation of the cartridge. It is purely up to the person recycling the cartridge, as to whether the hole is sealed.
"why would Canon go to the trouble of providing a...
Use the photo cartridges, in the photo cartridge slots, as you will ruin the print head eventually using regular cartridges. The ink sets are different
First off.....Lexmark and Dell (which are both the same printers) are the worst printers in the industry to buy. Second, Lexmark and Dell have a very high failure rate, they tend to burn out easily. These are 2 of the main reasons Refill Technicians are not refilling/recycling these cartridges...
Well, I have heard the Brother (certain models) have a faulty ink sensor problems, I am assuming that this is your problem. Usually the work around fixes this so that you can at least continue to print, but yours doesn't want to cooperate...lol. I would suggest new Brother cartridges, to see if...
Maybe.........You could try uninstalling the driver, then unplugging the printer from the computer, and the electricity, wait for 1/2 hour, then restart the computer, plug the printer back into the computer, and electricity, let it auto detect. If you use Windows xp, or Vista, let them install...
There is one fix you can try, put black electrical tape in the clear sides of the LC-51 cartridges, the ink sensor should think the cartridge is full and the error should not return. Just make sure you don't run the cartridges dry.
Apparently it does......
Future-oriented: Suitable for CLI-8 products like >Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta< as well as the new CLI-8-Red and CLI-8-Green Tanks.
Hi Geoffrey
The LC-51 as far as I can find is not compatible with the Brother MFC 235C. The cartridges have different page yields (LC-51 having more ink) The LC-37 cartridge is Australia, so I'm not sure what the setup is there. Here in Canada we do have the LC-51 cartridges, but not the...
"then it would prohibit further printing until a genuine cartridge is fitted"
Well, the cartridge is a genuine Canon cartridge, just refilled, and re-inserted. I have heard of a program included with the driver software that can cause problems with recycling your Canon cartridges. (By the way...
It could be a number of things, cartridge refill hole isn't sealed properly, low quality ink, to warm in the room where the printer is, or maybe the head isn't seating properly at the park station. Also it depends on the method of refilling you are doing, some refill through the bottom, some...
From what I've heard, and read, this resetter will be available May 21st. It was presented at the Germany Remax apparently, with excellent results. There are a few people who have purchased one at Remax, and are testing them. They will post their results on another forum, which I will relay here.
Have you tried this?
Start
Settings
Printers and Faxes
right click on your printer icon
click on "Printing Preferences"
in the dialog box, click on "Maintenance"
click on "View Printer Status"
in the dialog box, click on "Options"
then deselect the "Enable Status Monitor" option
wrong, the CLI/PGI resetter resets all but the photo cartridges. You must be reading about the old ones (proto type) the up to date resetters are fine.
Also, some HP & Lexmark cartridges have to be flushed because of the "shoe polish" problem. After a while, the ink in these cartridges hardens on the screen and inside the ink reservoir.
HP considers these printers "disposable" so there are no service manuals for them. If you want to take it apart to clean it, you'll have to wing it...lol. I was thinking on your colour cartridge problem, what ink are you using for refills? Who makes it? or where did you buy it? And how long have...
5 years old eh, could be it's just on it's way out, the print head may be going. Yes leave the vent holes open. The reason it drips is from over filling it, good thing you leave it to drip for a while. Another way is to suck 1cc of ink back into the syringe, that is if you don't want to wait for...
Have you noticed each time you try to refill the cartridge seems to take less and less ink? The color should take 5-6cc each color, and the black should take 16-18cc. If the don't, then they need to be replaced, or flushed out.
Ok, those would be the 56 & 57 cartridges, the color cartridge has to be primed after filling, to remove any air lock which would do exactly as you described. Also these cartridges can only be refilled 3 or 4 times before the sponge inside won't accept any more ink, when this happends, you...
