The cleaning solution was the commercial type , pink , in a little 30ml bottle as part of the refill kit, plus 1 bottle of each Cyan, Magenta, syrringe, needle, plugs etc, bought at the local store.
this sort of kit.

I will do my best for the pictures........I...
I would agree, dont give up yet. I recently took delivery of a MP600, I put the Printhead into storage without unwrapping it , using instead the used printhead from a 5200 (same head type). I printed and refilled without a problem until after one re-fill when testing via the print of a purge...
If the failure to lay ink down was simultaneous across all carts ,I would not suspect clogging. Clogging is usually 1-2 colors at a time and the print starts getting patchy/streaky/fainter etc.
It would appear that the nozzles are either not receiving a signal to fire or are receiving a signal...
Manuchau, I have visited this site and am unable to decide exactly what this re-setter does. ?
Does it re-set waste ink tank full counter (using eeprom software) ?
Or does it re-set / restore cartridge ink level monitoring ?
I suspect its the first one , but if its the second that would be the...
Firstly I am ........HEADPHONESMAN !!............but no matter......many other Canon Pixma users knew the solution to the problem, I just beat them to it in giving you the solution.!
I was one of the first owners of the 4000 and was quickly frustrated when the hole refused to get any smaller...
Yes I think there is something you missed , (its hidden well away, even Canon would not tell me about it 1)
In the Canon CD-Label Print program.....select File/Select Paper/New fom the top tool bar.
Then do the template that you want....i have made 4 or 5 that match the sizes of all the...
I entirely agree. Refilling is about saving money , not spending it on frills . Sure , the re-setter may give you back ink - monitoring and some feeling of legitamacy..................but you may as well do the monitoring and you were never in the wrong in the first place.
If you are worried...
Thank you Pharmacist ...I have tried to purchase at my local UK Chemist giving full reasons as to the use I wanted .these needles for......but here in the UK, Drugstores/Chemists will not sell to an individual unless on a Doctor`s Prescription.......will all UK refillers take note.
If any UK...
I would also like to try the German method , but my current needles (ex bubble pack re-fill kits ) , 35 mm in length are too short .
As far as I can see the best length would be 50-75 mm .
Can anyone point to a UK and/or Euro supplier ???.
KnightCrawler ..I am overjoyed that you did , its great to beat the system , but please briefly describe exactly what you did to achieve it.......??? I am intrigued ....
Yes you are correct Grandad , at least thats the way the Cartridge World re-set carts are issued. They stick a label on each empty cart handed in for exchange giving the simple geographical location whence it came before sending it to their central location for re-setting . The new re-set cart...
I think you are partly right Manuchau, several months ago there were odd reports of machines that had been running refilled carts (no lights) refusing to work until a genuine (light working ) cart was installed, whereupon near normal service was resumed.
However these were odd...
I take it that you are referring to the ink level monitor facility being restored/reset after you have refilled an empty cart. You cannot do this , thereafter you have to monitor and refill as necessary by visual inspection of the cart or when one of the inks stops printing.
The procedure...
I do not believe this was based on rumor. My memory of the discussion at the time was that it was Canon stated the fact somewhere , (perhaps in the Manual?) , perhaps to disuade "Business Users " from being frugal, (time is money).
I have never investigated the comparison of duration times of...
sorry have just seen the above message, you did exactly the right thing as you can see. The reason that you do not have a "disabled ink monitor" message is that it isnt ........yet . It will be eventually and you will then get a message that the ink is "Out" and will then show you the action to...
according to the MP150 on screen manual error codes:
E, 2
Reload the paper correctly and press [Black] or [Color].
(orange light flashing will continue as it (as long as you have "old, "empty" carts in) each time you call for a print
They will go to sleep in between times)
looking at the right hand side of machine the button on the extreme right is the ON/Off button (no.10 in Manual)
next (going left a bit and down ) is the Stop /Reset button (button 9 in manual)
next to it (on its left), The color button. (button 8 )
next to it ( " " ), the black...
In other posts above there appears to be a suggestion that an airtight seal is required/advisable. In my experience it does not appear to be necessary, I do something similar to No 6.........I use an elastic band to retain the top to the cart body.
After refilling I have never seen a CL 40.41...
Please note:- The ink level monitor is "automatic" it counts down firings/cleaning cycles . It will eventually say "empty " even (soon) after re-fill, you then elect to override the ink monitor to resume printing.
Regarding amount to fill , using the "top off" method , inject enough ink to...
