Pure magic !.............any Forum member who tells him about the Durchstich method will have a lot to answer for , I fear........................................
Glad you got your printer working ,..............a friend in New Zealand also had similar probs with " more than 1 cart of a color inserted" and please replace carts with lights out ...etc on a 5200.
He had never overriden or used a Redsetter............perfectly legit operation...
Websnail ,
This link appeared just after I had bought mine from the German Company............I felt the same as you but I did ask others to report here if they had actually purchased successfully from this company at this price. It seemed to good to be true............
I dont believe anyone...
In my experience the repeated insertion of the needle has little apparent effect on the integrity of the sponge.
Yes I agree it is fiddly................but worth it.
You can try the following:-
Take off the needle from the syringe and introduce it to the cart. You seem to get a better...
I have used both Satin and Gloss sprays with discs that were prone to remain "sticky" untreated. They do work in protecting the ink layer from water/humidity/sweat. They also prevent a printed disc from sticking in the player when "eject" is pressed.
Care must be taken in spraying the Gloss to...
This re-set they mention is for resetting the waste ink tank levels stored on the eeprom in the printer of various Canon Printers via software or via the pressing of buttons on the printer whilst in the Maintenance Engineers Mode.
This thread is dealing with the re-set of the electronic chips...
Thanks for the picture Pebe !.......excellent........................ I now know the exact area you are referring to.
Although I have not yet had this problem , I will wait and see if it occurs , if it does I will post if your solution was relevant and was tried ..... and if it worked or not...
pebe,
I am most interested in your possible explanation for the malfunction. I too have an MP600 , and a Redsetter.
I have had a good look at a PGI 5 and I cannot identify the particular area of the cart that was contaminated with ink that you are describing.
Can you be more specific about the...
Yes, I agree.
My main reason for wanting to re-set carts back to proper condition was because of the possibility that built in to some machines was the condition that the "ink -out" override could only prevail for a limited amount of time before a genuine cart was needed to be purchased to...
I also got mine from this site ,without the ink , it came in a similar size strong carton , , adequately packaged.
I too think this illustrated post on the base plate conversion is exceptional , and should be what we all would like to aspire to. I now have no reservations about eventually...
The ink monitoring facility is as valid as it was with an original full Canon cart.
I have just been testing the ink monitoring facility and the indicated levels are falling commensurate with use, just the same as with "New" carts.
It is possible to reset (using the Redsetter) the ink level to...
This is just a general reply based on the fact that i did this operation once on a Canon 6200.
Before you start make sure you are in possession of the Waste Tank Full Re-set procedure for your printer , and that you understand the required steps. You can even go straight ahead and do it if you...
Redsetter was received today from Germany.
30 carts were reset (6 were PG5) .........all carts which previously had been the subject of ink monitoring shutdown , were succesfully re-activated to work (apparently correctly at this stage) when put back in 2 seperate 4200 machines.
It can...
Here is my final interpretation of the problem ., if you have tears prepare to shed them now...................
It was the print head.
How do I know ? Because I took the printhead from the MP600 (that I struggled to get out !) ... and properly stored it until today when i tried it in my 5200...
Iwould say that your problem probably lies with a clogged Magenta cart , not a clogged head , as another Magenta cart works ok (it is unlikely it would clear a clogged head ) . If there was an electronic problem with the Magenta cart (i.e duff chip) , the printer would not print at all . I...
This is the first report of a power drain problem with a re-setter. has anyone else had cause for concern?
JAAAP can you state the following:-
the re-setter model or type ?...............................( e.g Redsetter ?)
the 3 Battery Makes used / voltage / Type .Code...
I too am not clear on what this means.
My interpretation is that (on some printers) , where you have had warning that the cart is empty and flashing and you have elected to override and release ink monitoring, (i,e. finishing with a cart with no light showing ) , the reset may not restore the...
Further to my previous post above regarding this company, I cannot recommend this company at this time, for this Item.
I waited 7 days for delivery and when I rang up , was told it was not in stock "it might come in during the next 2 weeks , perhaps ".
I never received any notification prior to...

Please note although I recognise this as a well established UK company I have not dealt with them previously . At this time I am unable to comment on their level of service , I hope to be able to do so (favorably , I hope) , in the next few...
