I don't have the printer model you are having so I can't be for sure. But there is a possibility that one of the cart chip couldn't be recognized. 2 possibilities case:
1) It could be the chip was not sitting probably to the chip sensor. As we remove carts and reinsert carts many times after...
1) Connect your printer usb cable to your computer and power up the printer.
2) Go to the Printer Maintenance Tab, ClickView Printer Status to see what is the exact error code or message. If there is an error code/ message post back to the forum, probably someone in the forum might know and...
brady38, unless you can find pigment ink that has the same quality as canon and that you print regularly, otherwise use dye ink for the PG-210. You have lesser amount of problem to deal with particularly with the clog.
geocha, what is the initial purpose of your test? According to your title, it says "Testing black ink PGI-520". PGI-520 is the bigger cart that uses pigment ink. Why are you bring in the photo black (the smaller cart) which uses dye ink into the picture(in term of the topic of discussion). I...
geocha, in your first post you mentioned that one is OCP bulk ink (black) and the other is IS pigment black. Was the OCP bulk ink in the first post also pigment ink?
And for post #11, the last 2 pictures, I didn't understand what you mean by "pigment black channel and the photo channel".
BCI-7 chipped cart is used in Japan. The BCI-7 cart is the equivalent of CLI-8 carts and BCI-9BK is the equivalent of PGI-5BK cart which rest of the countries other than Japan is using. The seller sells internationally, so he/she is selling a resetter that can reset both PGI-5, CLI-8 and BCI-7...
geocha, is the pictures for OCP ink (in the first pic) and IS PGI-520 (in the second pic), printed on exactly identical paper (both in terms of type and gsm)?
Hi sgmichael,
I didn't read all other people reply to your problem. Not too sure if i will be able to suggest something that would be of helpful. But based on your first post, if you find any contamination of the ink inside a cart, it's not good enough to just replace with a new cartridges...
Thanks Hat & PeterBJ for replying.
I thought I needed facebook account in order to login. And I initially thought that "I don't have a Facebook account", will automatically sign up a facebook a/c as well if I input my email for siging up with scribd . PeterBJ, Thanks for the explanation. I...
As I said, (for normal printing and not copying function) as long as plain paper mode is selected and grayscale is selected, despite duplex printing, it uses pigment black on the duplex page. Any matte paper, high resolution paper & Photo paper mode, they will use dye ink from the CLI-8 cart...
garnet2t, as long any of the ink tank ran out out of ink, the canon printer will ask you to replace the cart (or release the ink monitor if it's still happening for these newer printer), that's the way it is.
Like I said above, for normal process of printing, as long as plain paper mode &...
I am not too sure about the newer printer. But the previous printer using CLI-8 & PGI-5BK such as MP500 & IP4200 & IP4500, uses Pigment Black Ink (i.e the PGI-5BK cart if it's filled with Pigment Ink) as long as Plain Paper Mode is selected when printing with Grayscale selected (i.e to print...
HP Premium Plus Glossy is swellable.
One way you could tell, is take a printed swellable glossy photo paper and run it under water or pour some water over it. Then take a piece of paper towel and wipe the swellable photo paper, you will notice that the coating on top of the paper is rub off...
leo8088,
Now, would one hold a document printout directly right infront of the eye to read? No, most people would hold the paper at a reading distance.
It's bubblejet printer where liquid is being sprayed onto the substrate . Obviously, the letter made up by many ink dot is not going to be...
You mentioned you were using Pigment Ink from Efillinks in PGI-9 carts. I visited the Efillink website but didn't see that they carry any Pigment Ink for the Colored ones Ink for Canon or for canon 9500 in your case which you are using.
Specifying which dye ink is not important here since it's dye which I obtained locally here. I hadn't gotten chance to try out Image Specialist Ink yet before. Now that Octoinkjet is carrying IM, maybe could consider to switch over when I had the chance to. Either KMP U Black with IM color dye...
Hi Hat, generally the dye black text over black colored background do not imposed much of the problem (assuming black dye ink was being refilled in PGI-5 and the rest of the color being dye ink) .
The picture I posted is with one pigment black ink that has this problem whenever it was printed...
leo8088, not photo. But documents. Above image is Just an example for text over colored background. I don't why you think it's photos or graphics only. Documents can include both text and graphics. Such as manual, statistics report with charts Pie chart, bar charts etc or all other document...
