For those who are experience with creating custom ICC profile? May I know what are the photo paper size that is required to be printed on for creating ICC profile purpose? Do I need to get A4 size? Will 5R ( 5" 7" 127 178 mm ) be good enough?Or if 5R is too small, will 8R or 6R or any other...
Tudor, i wonder how much have the top sponge absorb for CLI-8 after you have left it sit for sometime 2 minutes or more without the hot glue over the vent hole like what you said in your original instruction step?
Have you gone to the service mode to print a detail extended nozzles check to help you pick up a more detail analysis of the nozzles. If you do, you could try using a high resolution paper to print the extended nozzles check at the service mode. Though using High Resolution paper is not...
Thank you tudor for making the second CLI-8 video for me. Not too sure if you have throw away the existing CLI-8 in the 2nd video where you did it with hot glue.
Just a question (no need further video, because 2nd one is good enough for me to download), so the sponge absorbed unitl where it...
Okay, thanks for the info.
I am not familiar with german refill method. But since anyway, you have sealed that german refill method front refill hole with hot glue so I don't think it should in anyway nullifies the experiment or the video I wishes to capture the process and download.
Tudor, By the way, out of curiosity I wanted to asked, in your video posted in #41, is there a german refill method refill hole at the front of the cartridge (where the sponge chamber is. where the refill hole is near to the cartridge plastic front tab is)?
Have you used this cart in your...
Hmm, Not CLI-521 because I wanted one with a transparent cart where one could see the cartridge in action and then download your video later. I don't have a video cam.
Wow by the way, you could make video so beautiful.
just a video 100% in similar condition for CLI-8 in your above video in...
Thank you for your video, it's nice to see that the sponge could absorb the ink with the top refill hole plugged (sealed up). SO I guessed you could ignore me where I suggested you to allow a couple amount of ink to be absorbed by the sponge (which by this time, the sponge should have reaches...
Tudor, regarding your question to your post #30, I weight the purge CLI-8 cartridge which was dried for a month plus, and it's weigh about 13-14g. I don't have a precise weighing scale though. Not too sure would a cartridge that is has been dried for more than 1 months (not more than 2 months)...
Tudor edited his first post. You can see he said he modified the first post at post #10. He original had the vent hole covered up right in the picture at the initial stage before one start to refill. Look at his post #8 too, that would gives you a rough idea of what his original instruction was...
Yes there is no refill hole at the ink chamber top. But where is the refill hole now? Isn't the refill hole now relocated at the front cartridge of the sponge chamber where one created a newly refill hole by using a tool to poke through to make hole? Though the refill hole not at the top where...
In this german method in the picture, I see the cartridge that is not on storage clip and vent hole Not Close too, and there is no hole on top of the ink chamber. But ask yourself, where is the refill hole now or is there a hole that has taken over the role of the top refill hole?
I try to see if there is one very dry one and weigh. If I am not wrong is about 14g. Later I check again.
No, I am not trying to argue. In no way was all my reply is an attempt to argue. But I am just explaining what what I said previously in my post. If one misunderstand what I wrote in some...
I only experiment with german refill method once or twice as suggested by this forum, and I gave up because I couldn't get used it. So I continued to use what I am familiar with the top refill method.
So I can't really comment on the german refilling method.
But ask yourself this question, for...
What other ideas I had? I had no other ideas.
And I didn't used large screw to extract the ball, If you were referring to the cartridge in my picture at post #20, where there was glue next beside the refill hole where the ball had been removed, that hole was made several years ago (can't...
Tudor, You totally misunderstand. I didn't said to refill with the vent/air inlet hole closed or covered.
I wrote at post #7, because I saw with your original picture that has not been edited with vent/air inlet hole closed with clay on the storage clip. And I thought you were refilling the...
Okay, let simulates,
Here is a cartridges that has been purge and dried for several months. Seal the vent/air inlet hole with hot glue (now ensuring no gaps on the hot glue over the vent hole) so that NO FURTHER air can enter the sponge chamber. So after sealing the vent hole with hot glue...
Hat I think you are misinterpreting or misreading what I mentioned in my posts:
Precisely, that is what said at post #7 that the vent or air inlet hole should NOT be covered so soon. Before Tudor edited the post, it depicts the clay over the vent/air inlet hole before starting refill. The...
Yes, what you mentioned certainly can be done and it's the same, because you are allowing the air and ink exchange process to take place when you remove/release the thumb/finger or putty from the vent/air inlet hole at some stages and then refill again. That is to say, you can cover the vent...
Hat my dear, I did not said to refill purged cartridge or very dry sponge under 1 minutes or less. If the sponge does not absorb fast, take your time to slowly refill for a purge cartridge or a very dry sponge. If you want to seal with the plug and let the ink settle for a couple of minutes, a...
