Hello, I have MP210, the problem is that only black print head nozzles dries out in a day or two. The problem is resolved if you turn off the printer and print head is moved by hand to right size.

I replaced the capping station from another almost identical printer that uses same capping station, sorry forgot the model. This had no improvement whatsoever.

What could be the cause for the problem given the fact that another capping station was used and this made no improvement? Any ideas?

100% missing PGBK?

May be due some electrical failures either in PG-?? cartridge or carriage, or ribbon or mother board (very rare).

For instance lack of any following signals (every of it is provided by only single pin in cartridge connector):
- PG heat enable
- VHT
- serial clock
- latch signal

No error reported by printer if any of it is lost, and no print.

Check the black rubber "surround" gasket around the PGBK purge pad carefully for mispositioning or distortion. Also check the underside of the print head for a surface defect that would cause a poor seal to this gasket.

If left for a week then YES, almost all nozzles missing.
If left for few days then NO, it looks as random dried nozzle patterns.

As I said the entire purge station "capping station from another" was replaced but it does not matter, same problem with old or this replacement purge station.

Note: The problem is resolved if you turn off the printer and print head is moved by hand to right size.

Sounds like the head is being wiped by something as you move it by hand...

The nozzle check above was done after I moved the print head with my hand, but it did not help that time, so really this is a mystery.

You’re going to need a new print head, because the yellow has gone beyond saving, sorry.. :(

To me it looks like something really wrong is going with ink inside both cartridges, but PGBK is going worse.
