A friend just got a new Canon MX850 for her small business. The printer will mostly be used for text and documents. I told her that she should look at using SwiftInk for the replacement CLI-8* & PGI-5 cartridges. SwiftInk sells carts with a chip already installed for $6.95 ea. I doubt that she would want to refill the OEM carts and my experience with trying to transfer the OEM chip from a Canon cart to a SwiftInk a few months ago was somewhat disastrous (and laffable!).

I searched before posting and the topics were a couple of years old. Is SwiftInk a good company? Are there better? Remember, she wants to get the cartridges with the chip already installed.

Thanks.

I have purchased from Swift and had very good service. I've not tried the new replacement carts with chips but will in the future.

I just ordered a set of chipped compatible cartridges for my MP 600 from Swift Ink. These are not refilled OEM's but compatibles with a chip. I paid $31.75 shipped for a set of 5. They are $5.95 each(I had a 10% coupon) plus $4.95 shipping by priority mail. I had previously bought unchipped G&C compatibles from them and their service has been first rate. I'll report back on how the new cartridges work.

I received my cartridges yesterday(ordered on Sunday-pretty good service) and have installed them. The appear to be OEM cartridges with reset chips. All 5 ink levels reset to full and after running several color test documents the color seems very closely matched to Canon OEM ink. Pretty good for $5.95 per cartridge and even better if you can find a discount coupon.

Thanks for the review. There is a 10% discount coupon code that expires June 30 - Use coupon code "SURF" during checkout.
Once you have registered at their site and have given Swift your e-mail addy you will receive "Special" e-mails that usually have a discount code, about once a month I think.
