I bought this unit three or so years ago. After only using 25% of the inks, it stopped working, saying the waste ink pad was full!

So I bought a new one on Amazon for $10. No improvement.

Any ideas?

I replaced it with a G6020 all in one. No problems yet with 50% of the inks used. Probably no problems because I paid for the extended warranty! Unlike the G2260, it also has auto duplexing and a rear feed which is great for my photo papers.

Hi Paul... Very much my area of expertise. That said, the G2260 is shown as being compatible with the MC-G02 maintenance box so it should just be a case of replacing that cartridge and the waste pad counter stops being a problem.

If I've misunderstood and you meant you'd purchased a new maintenance cart when you said "So I bought a new one on Amazon for $10. No improvement." then I'd recommend purchasing an OEM unit from here:

For the G6020, that doesn't have a replaceable maintenance cart but I do have a product with video docs that helps when you hit the waste ink error on that. You can find the latter here with the kit linked from the video descriptions:

Trust that helps a bit with your problem.
